Hi there.

I bought 3M Peltor ear muffs. I've just tried them and they created something like negative pressure on my ear drums.
I've had them like 30 seconds and my T is raging. Also my balance is not OK and I feel this weird pressure around the ear. Anyone knows what it could be?

Thank you.

You are in the early stages of tinnitus and I don't think its ear muffs causing your symptoms. Providing earmuffs, earplugs etc are you correctly, in noisy surroundings I don't see a problem. They shouldn't be used to suppress ordinary everyday sounds. It all depends what caused your tinnitus? If you haven't been seen at ENT for tests on your auditory system then I suggest you do.
All the best

No idea. Most everyone on here I've seen comment said that's what should happen when you put on ear muffs or ear plugs with T.

I am however in a minority or a unique case where ear muffs completely get rid of my T. I'm still searching for an answer as well but believe mine is related to high frequency hearing loss.

Funny you should say that, because it feels like my H is lower and I definitely hear better.
But there is vertigo, which I basically never had before and T is worse.

Summ---I would certainly go see an ENT, especially if you're having vertigo. It could be something simple or it could be something else, but it's better to be safe when dealing with vertigo.

I've been to 1 ENT already. When I tried to describe my condition, he stopped me and told me Meniere's.
But I'm pretty sure now that eustachian tube is full and maybe inner ear infection.
Gonna try new one tomorrow. Thanks.

Summ---that's a shame your doc would come to that conclusion without a battery of tests. That's why I do not like ENTs, we'll, some of them at least who don't run tests but instead assume that's what you have.
I've had this hum/rumble since winter but I don't bother going to an ENT. I've just had my physical and everything's alright, bloodwork and such, so I guess I'll just deal with it. Lol

I find they are so tight on my head i can only use them for 10 mins tops. I once trapped a nerve in my face when I used them for about 10 mins- could feel horrible tingling down one cheek. Thankfully when I took them off the sensation went way after a few minutes.
