I just happened to catch some of this live on TV earlier, and they actually talked about how important ear defence was due to the canons' loudness. From the footage I saw, they all had either ear muffs or ear plugs. I don't think they'd let them fire them without ear protection.

I know a person who got tinnitus exactly in this way.

Some of us will do. Others less... I guess I do having in the past sworn an oath of allegiance to the Queen. I feel it incumbent to mourn her loss... and I did like that he was at times still living long in the past with his gaffes.

On top of that I'm a widower too so I know only too well the pain of losing your other half.

That sounds cold coming from a person whose son committed suicide.

Someone always cares when a person dies.
