Cause of Tinnitus
Unknown/Conductive Hearing Loss
Hello everyone! I was recently diagnosed with Conductive Hearing Loss in both ears. Being much more aware of my hearing in general, in speaking to my friends, I mentioned hearing my heartbeat in my ears on and off for years. I had assumed this was common! It has come and gone, and been in both ears or just one.

Recently this past week, I had it for 5 days non stop in my right ear. I am about to go back to my audiologist to get fitted for hearing aids and I will bring up the possibility of Pulsatile Tinnitus then.

I have 2 questions.

What is the process of being diagnosed with PT?

And, I want to know what it is like to have hearing aids with PT.

Is it common to have PT with Conductive Hearing loss?

Thanks

What is the process of being diagnosed with PT?
The process of being evaluated can be found explained via the left side of the following diagnostic overview (developed by TRI):

Attached is also a review of potential differential diagnoses of the disorder itself.

Possible otosclerosis? CT scan can help diagnose.
