Wondering which affects concentration the worst, pulsatile tinnitus or other tinnitus, such as ringing.

That's a good question! I have both regular tinnitus and pulsatile tinnitus, and I think overall that the pulsatile tinnitus affects concentration more. For some people, it may not, because theirs is intermittent. My pulsating, however, is constant, and it's harder to tune it out during the day.

@TEL,

Do you have both ringing and pulsating? Which one is worse or better for you?

I only experience pulsing, and it's making it hard for me to do school work.
My dad has ringing and was telling me the PT is no excuse for trouble concentrating.

@TEL, If your pulsating is constant, I would imagine it is affecting your concentration.

I have both pulsatile and regular T. In my case pulsatile T is nothing compared to regular T in terms of concentration. The very very high pitched jet engines make so it so hard to focus on your work.

@Beste, I can imagine it does. I hope that it eventually calms down for you. Do you think that a drug may have been the cause of your tinnitus? Both the pulsatile and the ringing?

If it is loud and has your whole head, your dad is wrong. But If it stays isolated and low in one ear, it might be tolerable.
