Cause of Tinnitus
lots going on at the time
Ihad an appt with a tinnitus specialist who has informed me that my tinnitus will go in months. HE wanted to know whether I have had a t3 blood test and also wants me to have a ct scan with a dye. My tinnitus nois seems to come from my neck region and clashes with my pulse when I speak now. my left ear picks up the noise but with different body movements it goes in both ears and gets incredibly loud. It changes with head movements and my jaw. Could this be a thyroid problem. Have you ever known anyone who has this and disappeared. THANKS

Could this be a thyroid problem.

Hi @Worker -

Tinnitus is occasionally associated with throid problems, but I am not aware of any cases wherein correction of the thyroid disorder has directly resulted in mitigation of the tinnitus.

Have you ever known anyone who has this and disappeared.

Sure. Many cases of tinnitus (including pulsatile tinnitus) spontaneous resolve over time.
