The research has shown promise in both animal and human studies and is a promising new treatment on the horizon.

Quite honestly I can't be fagged to read up on research, I leave that to you guys with a scientific mind.

To tell you the truth, I have always regarded it as being 'the guy in the open boat peering out at the horizon for land.'

Horizon watching.

I will be deeply interested if it happens.
But in the mean time I have found ways to survive through deep relaxation and meditation.

We have to survive the - 'here and now.'

How do you think that happened?

Steroids + HBOT + Ipidacrine into my ears + a cocktail of IV drugs to improve blood flow.

Hearing loss was recent and I was in the time frame when it might help.

Most likely I had unilateral SSNHL and acoustic trauma a month later.

I think tinnitus in most cases is caused by sudden (in short time) hearing loss and brain just doesn't have time to adapt itself.

I probably had some hearing loss accumulating over the years, but tinnitus didn't show itself until I suddenly lost a bit of hearing in my left ear.

Definitely the case for me. I'm sure I've gradually damaged my hearing, but my brain's been able to keep up until the sudden burst beginning of December.

They don't cooperate. They are separate entities. I think I recall Brai3n was part of some vague nerve stimulation though (I may be wrong) and was it Sven Vanneste or someone else who collaborated with Dirk de Ridder in VNS?

Anyway it achieved mixed results. Neuromod is much more interesting at this stage.

I just had a QEEG test done this past Saturday. It is exactly what Dr. Shulman in Brooklyn, NY uses to diagnose and treat tinnitus. Let's see how it goes.

I didn't even expect an answer to my mail but I already got a reply today from Dr. Vanneste, it's in Dutch but I will try to translate:

"I am only a scientific advisor and do not work for Neuromod. At this moment the expected release date in Belgium will be around the middle of September.
The audiogram is not necessary for the treatment, but to see how much hearing loss you have.
Possibly the volume can be adjusted (to a maximum level) so one can hear all the tones."​

My questions were when there will be a release date and if you had to get it through an audiologist and needed an audiogram to set it up.

Yes, he works as a professor in global brain health at the Trinity College Dublin.

Interesting. So if Neuromod is gonna be available officially in Belgium in September... I wonder what other expansion plans they have in place that we don't know about? It would be much easier for me to travel to, say, Austria than Ireland...
