Cause of Tinnitus
machine noise in factory, headphone, stressed
Hello everyone,

I'm Robert and I will share my tinnitus experience, it started last Oct. 10, 2017 it was in my workplace as I used sandblast machine, portable drill, and other noisy portable everyday Monday to Friday without using ear plugs that triggers noise in my both ears, at first i'm using earplugs but when I got infection in my ears I stop it. so I went to my doctor and she gave me nasal spray and ear drops for my infections after a week my ear infection is gone but the noise is still there, so I ask my doctor to refer me Ent specialist, they got my hearing test and we talked the doctor and he game me nothing but only advices of how to avoid so much noise so that it wont made my t worse.

For the couple of weeks of my T it was mild and there's no problem with my sleeping but after a month the noise got louder and I realised that when I am in walking at park there's an airplane pass by that I didn't wear any protection during that time because I don't have any idea yet so I ask my doctor for the sleeping aid I take melatonin 3 mg before bed so for the 5 weeks of good night sleep but after that I experience headache so I decided to stop it since my t back to baseline.

So I got a good night sleep within 10 days of not taking melatonin but when I attended a Christmas party with my wife and friends and wearing my earplugs , since there's a game so some are shouting, also there's a background music so my t got louder again so I'm trying not to take melatonin because I'm scared of the side effects that cause my headache, 3 days I got sleep only 2 to 3 hours only so I decided and no choice but to take again the melatonin until now for almost a week and I got a mild headache for now.

Since then I always prayed and ask the lord to give me strength on how to deal with and accept for having tinnitus
so good luck guys.
Thanks.

PS : Hi to all the above message was my original post which I put the wrong place, it was last year I think and I was confusing that time because of my screaming t on where to write my experience .
So I decided to transfer here so everyone know me better and I want to be part of this forum and it helps me a lot and I know there are lots of good people here.
By the way my original place was in the Philippines I moved here in BC Canada last march 2014 my wife sponsored me.

Surely we welcome you back to rejoin the forum. Thanks for the good words about this forum. It does have many good, caring people. So you are free to rant and express yourself. We can understand you and your tinnitus challenge. So do you have an update on your current tinnitus?

@billie48 thanks for reading with my t experience
So here's my update,
I was having a spiked last may 15 Tuesday because my wife open the window on the apartment we rent and the fire truck passing by since we're closed on the roadside and I covered my ears with my hands right away and that time I didn't know she open it. And on Tuesday night I was not able to sleep properly but then the next evening and so on I went back to my regular sleeping hours without any sleeping aid because I stop taking it after 4 - 5 months since onset.
And another incident my t spiked again for about a day when I was walking beside the street wearing my muff that fire truck passing by but then the next day my t getting a little bit low but it didn't back to baseline. There are times my t gets louder and some are not , Anyway I think I already or started to habituate my t after 4 months because I can fully asleep now without the meds and thanks to the Lord Jesus I prayed him all day.

Is there a chance that my high pitch t with a little loud 'til now will go back to baseline?

Thanks and god bless,
Robert

Good to know you are getting better. You are already showing your spiky T can go back to baseline from your description of events. So have faith that it will go back to baseline soon. The more you are not stressed about T, the less power it has to haunt you. The more you care less about T, the more likely your brain will not focus on T as it thinks T is not a threat because you are not paying attention, especially if it senses that you are enjoying yourself. You rob T of its fire to hurt you. So take easy brother. Take good care. God bless.
