Rebooting the Brain Helps Stop the Ring of Tinnitus in Rats

Actually when I had my open heart bypass surgery, they stopped my heart for about 6-8 hours. Then restarted it after they were done. Afterwards I had problems with my memory, still do, then 3 months later the T started.

I had a talk with a psychiatrist about my memory, he told me even though my brain was still getting blood and oxygen to it, there are things not understood that affect the brain under those conditions. He also said it may take a few years for my memory to get back to where it was. I asked him if this could have caused my T, he said absolutely, after having my brain traumatized in that manner....

:) Yes Erik, it would be nice to have a Brain Task Manager to see the Brain Processes & Performance...

This is from 2011, but I can't find anything more recent. Does anyone have any follow up reports or articles about this>

There is a lot of work from the Kilgard lab at UT Dallas on vagus nerve stimulation. I don't think he is focusing on tinnitus anymore as a primary application for vagus nerve stim but the MicroTransponder trial results should be out soon if they aren't already published. The advanced projects division of the US military has invested tens of millions into vagus nerve stimulation in 2016 -http://www.darpa.mil/news-events/2016-03-16 -and some top neuroscience labs will be carrying out vagus nerve research, some on tinnitus.
