Thank you for your postings. I read them with great interest and appreciate you taking the time to describe in detail your experiences. It is a pity that some detracted from your posts with cynical responses - scientific "discovery" occurs along the lines of any "discovery" - risk and creativity and finally sharing. I hope you continue to write.

No, I have definitely decided not to continue reporting my experience with stem cells openly. I only discuss stem cells if people specifically ask me.

As you seem relatively new to tinnitus, I advise the following steps to improve your situation:

1. Get a diagnosis.
2. Educate yourself on tinnitus.
3. Decide on a strategy.
4. Follow the strategy aggressively.

Assuming that you have "inner ear tinnitus" (which is the most common), here is what you can do in terms of strategy/treatment:

1. TRT
2. Psychiactric medicine
3. Cold laser therapy
4. Experimental medicine (eg. clinical trials such as AM101 or Autifony, stem cells, HIFU, brai2n clinic).

For TRT and/or psychiatric medicine suggestions, you can speak with @Dr. Nagler or @Dr. Ancill who will find specialists in your area (I believe Xanax is considered helpful in lower tinnitus volume, but it takes a while before the effect kicks-in). For sleep management, Melatonin 6mg ½ hour before bedtime is a starting point, before moving on to something else. Sleep is an important component in terms of strategy (needless to say).

For laser therapy, you can find personal accounts of the therapy here:

Treatment clinics in Europe are:

www.dr-wilden.de

Personally, I did not find any significant tinnitus relief from using lasers for a two month period (but my hearing improved significantly; see my introduction). But, generally a longer treatment period is also required (ie. home therapy). Those who do best are the ones who keep at it - and who continue to keep at it. Also, please take note of the specific fact mentioned in the first blog about using high dosage low level lasers (250 mw). As far as I know, LaserKlinikken in Norway provides the highest dosage of therapy in the world. I will myself be getting a second round of laser treatment as I am required to exhaust all possible avenues before opting for HIFU surgery.

But whatever you do: decide on a strategy and stick with it. My advice to you (and others reading this).

(Please note that some of the clinics may not be functional at this time: ie. the brai2n clinic is not working with tinnitus electrode implants anymore, I think(?) - and dr. Wilden's clinic is closed and/or relocated to Spain at this moment, I believe).

Thanks for the advice. I have regular inner ear tinnitus and found a very good Audiologist here is Sydney. Have researched and discussed Neuromonics and will be starting the treatment next week. The results look good and as you say , it is a treatment that I need to stick at.
