Currently having pretty bad noxacusis. In earplugs or earmuffs most of the day. Sometimes double protected when driving or out in public.

Been this way for close to a month now. Ears are started to feel a little raw and itchy.

What can I use sparingly and safely to address this issue?

My mother asked her friend who is a pediatrician and she recommended this soap. I ordered some, but I'd like to know if there are other options.

CeraVe Hydrating Cleansing Bar

Also, this doctor friend hasn't always given the best recommendations in the past. Does this soap look safe for the ear canal since it's made for eczema?

Have you thought about a drop of olive oil?
CeraVe is pretty gentle, but I agree that olive oil is worth a try. During some of my worst ear canal infections I'd put a very, very thin layer of olive oil over the skin and it would relieve some of the itching almost immediately. Again, it was very thin coating. I did it by putting a little on a finger and just gently rolling it over the itchy, red area.

I use foam 3M 1100's. If I just lightly rub some on my finger and spread it on the earplug, would that be fine? I know not to use heavy drops. Just like running my finger on the top of the bottle and then costing the earplug.

I saw @Zugzug mentioned vitamin E ointment. Would that be better? Or would it make little difference compared to olive oil?

Since I'm plugging daily, if I do this lightly daily, will it be likely to cause a build up with either olive oil or vitamin E?

Yes, just rub the earplug lightly with the olive oil. I can't speak for the Vitamin E, but if @Zugzug recommends the ointment, that might be worth a try too. Olive oil is just something I always have around and it's saved me a couple of times so I feel comfortable recommending it.

I don't think it would cause a build up unless you use a whole lot, which you aren't going to do.

Thanks for following up. It gave me a warm feeling in my ears and a little itchy? You think it's still ok? My ear canal doesn't seem inflamed.
