SaluSTIM — tVNS Therapy Device

Has the SaluStim been clinically proven to reduce Tinnitus?

The combined treatment methodology currently used by the Tinnitus Treatment Centre (TTC) has been developed based on the research conducted by the Helsinki Ear Institute (HEI) in Finland. This research suggests that Transcutaneous Vagus Nerve Stimulation (tVNS) and Sound Therapy (ST), when used in conjunction, can reduce a patient's tinnitus and tinnitus associated stress. Further reading on our treatment can be found here.

It is clinically proven but they say "can"

Does anyone know will vagus nerve stimulation help reduce very loud tinnitus?

My tinnitus started 2 months ago and at first I was thinking about getting HBOT treatment but it's not recommended for people who have eustachian tube dysfunction and sinus issues...

I've been thinking about going to the Helsinki Ear Institute here in Finland, they offer vagus nerve stimulation treatments and also transcutaneous Great Auricular Nerve Stimulation...

I tried this for a month with TRT. No help within that time. I even suspected if it worsened my condition. Can't say really, it was on my first month with tinnitus. It was a mess.

I'm using SaluStim at the moment for 2nd month already, no result so far. I'll give it a try for another month but if no effect I'll return the device. Heard about other 3 people who used it with no success.

I tried this early on. Used it for a couple of months. Very hard to keep clipped to your ear. Zero effect on tinnitus but I do think it helped me sleep better as it seemed to have a slight calming effect. In hindsight I suspect that was placebo though.

Did you get it from the place that rents it?

They seem to have revamped the web page:

https://www.parasym.co/science.html

Unfortunately the research section is empty.
They now sell the Parasym for other applications besides tinnitus.
As this device is useless for tinnitus they try to sell it as remedy for other afflictions to earn some money.

Is it totally hopeless? I recall a couple of people who seem to have benefited. The vast majority here had no benefit though. It's 120 GBP for three months so maybe worth a shot anyway?

I did try it. No impact on my tinnitus, neither positive nor negative. I know at least 3 people who tried it with no success.

I think it's much better to try Lenire.

I agree. However given the low renting cost it might be worth a shot to see if one is among the very few who could benefit from the approach. Three months is about 120£, whereas Lenire has to be bought at 2500 EUR plus travel expenses etc. Clearly Lenire has much stronger chances to work.
A couple questions I had for you and other members: When you got the device, how was the sound therapy part delivered?

1. Did they provide you with a personalized sound therapy based on your audiogram and tinnitus, or was it a standard sound therapy for everyone?
2. Also, did they provide a device to play the sound therapy or did you have to use your own, and they only gave you a music file to play/CD?
