For those of us who have been severely damaged - who live in a state of continuous inner head noise - the experience of 'quietness ' is no longer a possibility
- let alone the silence we once knew and cherished.
Perhaps the best we can now do is to search for a state of peace - through stillness.
I practice this daily.
Sometimes I seem to come close to achieving it - sometimes not.
"To know yourself as the Being underneath the thinker,
the stillness underneath the mental noise,
the love and joy underneath the pain,
is freedom, salvation, enlightenment. Love."
Eckhart Tolle
