Setback After Daughter Slapped Me on My Ear Twice!

Well, you don't go to war with the army that you wish you had, you go to war with the army that you've got. This is the best and only source of information that we've got, so we should use it instead of throwing the baby out with the bath water.

I'll make this my last post because I've already taken up too much of the OP's thread.

That makes no sense, Bill. Unbiased data is essentially what you need. You could start by reading as many Pubmed papers as possible if you want to do some real research. A public forum is the last place I would come for meaningful, scientific, information.

Remember, science looks for truth. It doesn't care about personal beliefs.

I've already done that. The result is the thread below
https://www.tinnitustalk.com/threads/spontaneous-recovery-stats-many-recover-3-studies.21441/
Unfortunately, as you know, there had been no studies about the kinds of noises that could interfere with one's recovery.

Also, I see that you haven't addressed my post that I am quoting below
We can't use the data we get from this forum to estimate the values of the probability of a permanent spike, but we can use it to establish that the probability is nonzero. And in fact seeing how we get those horror stories on a weekly or even daily basis, we can establish that the probability is non-negligeable. For many of us, that is all we need, as it is so important for us to avoid a spike that it would be worth it to eliminate all activities that have a non-negligeable risk of getting a permanent T spike associated with them.

Yes, when you choose to ignore the data, you will end up staying with your own personal beliefs. (This appears to be your strategy.)

The person who looks at the data (while being aware of its limitations) is the one who will get closest to the truth.

so 6 days later and I'm pretty much back to baseline..a little more H but that could be due to increased ear plug use.

That is wonderful to hear @JuneStar ! I am glad that it has returned back to baseline!

Hopefully as well with some more time, patience, and calmness, your H will return back down to a baseline. I'm sure it's just from the stress of the situation. I know that's what happens with my H hen I'm stressed out about a situation or possible spike.

There's a YouTube video maybe you have seen, where the guy shows how to tap his skull and massage in certain spots to get rid of tinnitus. Maybe this technique might affect your tinnitus since sound changed with an impact? (but would it have a positive or negative result???)
