Tinnitus Since
1997, then resolved til recent worsening
Cause of Tinnitus
Concert, Acoustic Trauma
After the most recent acoustic trauma I suffered in the beginning of 2020 from a blast to my left ear, I experienced 24/7 deafening suicidal multi-tonal tinnitus in both ears. In the left, 3 different sounds - Jamaican drums, idling truck engine, jingle bells. In the right, loud oscillating church bells.

After an army of otoneurologists, audiologists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, masseuse's to no avail... not to mention medications Amitriptyline, Nortriptyline, Gabapentin, Clonazepam. No change.

At 15 months, I found the neurochiropractic team Dr Meir Tako (P-DTR neuroreceptor therapy) and Dr Rebecca Huang (SOT cranial adjustments). Their medicinal herbs and adjustments were curative - silence returned.

My Dr says once the tinnitus has been steadily gone indicating my system has stabilized, there's no reason for it to return. My neural axis has reset, so tinnitus is gone for good. Like many here have emphasized, hearing loss does not equal or necessitate tinnitus. It is hyperactive response of our body to injury/trauma/imbalance/etc. Many with hearing loss or deafness do not experience tinnitus. It's fundamentally a neurological dysfunction that can be cured with various approaches that calm the hyperneural abnormal signals- do not give up. Many people here have documented the treatments they've tried - everyone's body is unique and it may take time to find the perfect combination that finally knocks your tinnitus dead for good.

I've been suicidal daily, I was not able to habituate. So I know the horrific bleakness this sh#@ weighs on you. You ARE worth fighting for and you WILL win.

So happy for you. I'm going through the multi tonal suicide stage at the moment. Just madness. Unfortunately don't have access to your type of treatment but I'm just genuinely delighted that someone else has escaped the torture! Enjoy and thanks for sharing.

Congratulations. This is pretty amazing.

Did your pre-existing tinnitus go away as well? Did you ever have hyperacusis along with your tinnitus?

I am sure many people on this forum will have questions to ask you in hopes to get better themselves. The best thing you can do is stick around for a while to help the rest of us, it would be a blessing if there is something to learn from your recovery.

Also, how long did it take? What was the variety of medicinal herbs?

Not mentioning the herbs, given it was acoustic trauma which resonates with many on here, is a bit of a cop out. Really would love to know what herbs you took and adjustments you had.

What kind of hearing loss did you have?

Scam for sure. These posts about "herbs" without details (they want you to fish by privately messaging them) are under almost every tinnitus video on YouTube.
Ya I'm not sure what's going on here.

@Utopia's posts seem reasonable and the account age is from 2016. So I don't think it's really a scam but not sure why they are not responding. Maybe just drumming up business for Tako and Huang.

This looks like bullshit. Not even the names of doctors can I find on Google.
The doctors are definitely real. They operate a clinic in California. I have spoken to them and Dr. Tako seems very nice and even knowledgeable about tinnitus and related conditions. I am very skeptical in regards to this whole story but I can tell you that at least he seems knowledgeable about the many factors surrounding tinnitus and hyperacusis.

I just not really sure why @Utopia is not posting replies. They have been back on the site since last creating this thread.

This thread is pretty horrible.

Basically it's someone saying they found a cure for (ear)cancer and then just disappears.

There is a hilariously bad review on Google (the rest are all good reviews - or paid sockpuppets):

"Not helpful at all. Dr tried to convince us that by him pulling down on my arm while I am touching my pregnant fiancé and him poking her back with a toothpick he could tell where the problem was. Never ended up doing an adjustment and then proceeded to reason the technicalities of what constitutes an adjustment. Wasted $150 for 30min of nonsense. I want to rate 0/5 but google won't allow that"

did anybody spoke or went to Dr Meir Tako.
I will try this route as well ,but very hard here ,where I live here in western australia, nobody practice this P-DTR neuroreceptor therapy here.

by the way you can find all these names on google search

DO NOT go to these quacks for "treatment." The nasal specific / cranial adjusting technique they describe is not safe -- I had it done from another chiropractor who similarly claimed to be able to "treat" tinnitus and it dislocated my jaw and caused Eustachian tube dysfunction ever since. Stay away. I know how desperate it can feel in the early days of tinnitus onset, being told by ENTs that there's no hope, hence looking for alternative treatments.

But trust me it's not worth it. Stay away from any chiropractor that claims to do "cranial adjusting" or "nasal specific."
