I've created a small audio application that produces sound and somatosensory stimulation when used in conjunction with haptic headphones.

I use the Genius GX Gaming HS-G600V, which I place on my neck, chest, or head, wherever I can hear the sound and feel the tapping.

I've been testing this for two weeks. The session turns my high-pitched tinnitus into a somewhat distorted, mild static hiss that lasts for a couple of minutes. I haven't seen any long-lasting effects yet.

If you care to try this:
  • Download the attached silencio.zip file
  • Rename it to silencio.jar
  • Install Java on your PC
  • From command line, run:
    C:/wherever_silencio_is_located>java -jar silencio.jar

I tried it, but it malfunctioned.

I copied it to D:/ and typed in the cmd order, but I got the below error.

Can you help?

Did you skip the step right in the middle to install Java?

That message you got means, "The command 'java' is either misspelled or could not be found."

No, I had installed Java correctly.

You need to add your Java bin folder on the PATH so it is visible by the command line. If you didn't change anything during installation, then the bin folder is in "C:\Program Files\Java\jre-1.8\bin\".

Eventually, you can just call:
D:\>"C:\Program Files\Java\jre-1.8\bin\java" -jar silencio.jar

The message you got is that it didn't find the Java executable, which is related to your Java/system, not the OP's app. It looks like the location of the file is not in the path. Troubleshooting should be fairly straightforward.
