Singing made my tinnitus disappear!! My tinnitus has not been loud lately, but I could here it clearly in a silent room (I've been sleeping with a white noise app on). But now it is totally gone!

Long story short: I was singing karaoke yesterday evening and suddenly my ear popped. I didn't pay much attention to it, it was not painful or anything. Just kept on singing.

But this morning I woke up and NO tinnitus! I've enjoyed complete silence whole day today :)

I am wondering if my tinnitus was some kind of ventilation problem (?) in my ear and somehow singing fixed it. I have not been singing for over a year now before yesterday.

This is so cool!

I have to add that even in the case that this effect is only temporary - we'll see about that - I am going to start singing regularly and hope it will keep my T away :)

do you have a noise induced tinnitus?

Looks like it. Congratulations, i am happy for you and i will try this method too (i also suspect that i have ETD).

It is actually proven that singing (either bad or good ;) ) 10 minutes a day, is stress reducing. Everything that destresses you is good for your tinnitus (brain) Happy for you <3

Thank you for your supportive comments everyone!

The effect only lasted a couple of days, then my tinnitus came back. But now I know what to try! I have already noticed before that flying makes my T disappear (unlike for most people). After an intercontinental flight last autumn I was T-free for more than a week. I can't be flying every week but I can sing every day :)

I also noticed diving helps with my T - so I guess pressure changes help me. I would love to try HBOT but it is too expensive. Luckily singing is free :)

I'll keep you posted on my progress.

Hi...I'm recent to T (3 weeks) I've been on Pregnisone for 3 days (doctor thought it was ETD due to my severe allergies). I did notice, however, when I rehearse (I'm a vocalist) that the T was almost gone. I'm hoping it's a temp condition (been losing sleep)...but now I know it wasn't my imagination that is abated when I sang! Thanks for this discussion!
