Cause of Tinnitus
Sudden hearing loss of 50DB
Hey, suffered from sudden hearing loss 3 months ago, now hearing got back to normal but I do hear a bit weaker on my right ear. Also, some sounds like someone raising a voice can make it hurt. I also got a very mild tinnitus.

I smoke Marijuana mixed with tobacco everyday, can that

1. Make my tinnitus volume increase permanently?
2. Can someone share about their duration of tinnitus after sudden hearing loss?

Thanks
Ty

I don't really know the interaction of smoking and T, but smoking is the T equivalent of listening to loud music. You feel OK until you hit that threshold where your life turns into a nightmare. So if I had one big recommendation for you at this stage, it's to quit smoking.

Good luck.

1. -> yes
2. -> 2 years cured, started again, cured, started again

I have a nasty habit of waking up in the middle of the night, getting panicky, then rushing to the all night garage, buying a pack of 5 cigars then smoking them all nearly one after another and I inhale. At the end I'm wretching.

Tinnitus will get me eventually. My tinnitus is horrid at the minute and I'm torn between quitting to see if it helps my tinnitus and needing a smoke to stop me freaking out because of tinnitus.

The amount I've done in recent months I estimate it'll kill me in 5 years.

Marijuana makes your T temporarily worse till the effects go away. It's a bit the same as alcahol. You suffer from the hangover but afterward it goes back to its baseline.

I did not know where to put this article:

Effects of Secondhand Smoke Exposure and Noise Exposure on Tinnitus Occurrence in College Students and Adolescents

Background: Recent research indicated that young adults and adolescents reported tinnitus in higher numbers than previously. Thus, it is important to fully investigate risk factors for tinnitus in adolescents and young adults.

Purpose: The current study examined the influence of two environmental risk factors, secondhand smoke (SHS) exposure and noise exposure on tinnitus occurrence as self-reported by U.S. adolescents and young adults.

Research Design: A nonexperimental, cross-sectional design was used for this survey study.

Study Sample: Of 265 surveys received, 43 were excluded due to ineligibility. The remaining 222 surveys constituted the study sample. Participant respondents included 80 high school students (ages 14–17) and 142 college students (ages 18–30). The sample was primarily female (n = 160).

Data Collection and Analysis: Three (3) yes/no survey questions regarding SHS exposure, noise exposure, and tinnitus occurrence were analyzed. Statistical analyses included logistic regression, chisquare follow-up tests, and Pearson bivariate correlation analysis.

Results: Results revealed that 40 percent of young adults and adolescents surveyed reported that they experienced tinnitus. Regression analysis revealed significant main effects for noise (p = 0.004), gender (p = 0.017), and the interaction of SHS and noise (p = 0.001). There was no main effect of SHS exposure nor age on tinnitus occurrence. Follow-up chi-square analysis conducted to probe the gender effect revealed that females (45.1 percent) were more likely to experience tinnitus than males (27.7 percent). Chi-square testing to examine the significant interaction effect revealed statistical significance (p = 0.001) for individuals with reported noise exposure but not for individuals without noise exposure. In the noise-exposed group, individuals who also reported SHS exposure had a lower occurrence of tinnitus (23.6 percent). In contrast, the noise-exposed individuals without SHS exposure had a higher prevalence of tinnitus (57.9 percent). An additional chi-square follow-up analysis to examine the main effect of noise revealed no significance (p = 0.199). However, there was a significant (p < 0.01) negative correlation (r = –0.244) of noise exposure with age.

Conclusion: The current study results suggest there is a higher than expected report of tinnitus incidence in adolescents and young adults. The relationship between tinnitus occurrence and a combined exposure to noise and secondhand smoke revealed a unique effect in adolescents and young adults.

I am coming up on two years without tobacco...

This is adding to your stress...

If you are going to quit, just smash your head against the wall for at least six months...

Exercise till your heart is burning.
Get in shape bro... channel the energy... do push ups, become a rock...

We can smoke on our death bed should we desire.

Get rid of all the chemicals Allan, the fucking cigars are going to hurt and just make you fiend for more nicotine...

Do like fishbone... go hardcore on fitness...

Start now... as in today...

ScienceDirect and some medical journal studies discuss how tinnitus happens. In one of your other @Frédéric article studies submitted at same time, AIED is stated as very rarely a cause. Some of the best biological tinnitus researchers believe that biological systems need to be off balance with any connection to - disease conditions, weak immune system or received injury. With disease or conditions the body becomes weak. Injury can make biological systems weak. Biological weakness can make injury happen easier.

Children often get ear infections and respiratory issues due to second hand smoke. Stats are very high for young adults to receive tinnitus from second hand smoke. Numbers are alarming to biological breakdown from smoking. ScienceDirect researchers state that bacteria, infections and toxins are the set ups to receiving tinnitus from biological weakness that may include central nervous system disorders and corresponding injury.
