Hearing loss
I was listening to music on my Bose noise canceling headphones. Not too loud.

I started snacking on carrots and I noticed when I would snap one loudly, the music would enrich and get a little louder. It would go back after a few seconds but I kept doing it and after 5-6 repeats I noticed I didn't hear my tinnitus as much. It came back hours later, but this was the best two or so hours I have had in years.

Can anyone explain this? I just did it again and I hardly notice my tinnitus right now.

Strange.

I can't explain it, but hey....carry on. Or should I say "carrot on". If chewing on my finger nails while hopping up and down on one foot helped my Tinnitus, that's what I would be doing. :rockingbanana:

Maybe it somehow pushes the brain to turn down inner head sounds. Kinda like the head tapping technique that temporarily works for some people. You could be onto something.

Could be residual inhibition. The loud internal sound of the snap saturates the auditory system and your tinnitus is being driven into the background. But 2 hours is extremely long for residual inhibition...

Just my 2 cents.

Then again if I could get two hours of relief from snacking on a couple of carrots I wouldn't care finding out why and happily turn slightly orange.
