Is there any reason for worry, or is this just "part of the game," so to speak?

Approximately once a week I have a moment where I lose ALL of my hearing in one or the other ear, but never both at the same time. The hearing loss lasts no more than 1 second, then immediately after I get an extremely loud white noise/ "video game flash-bang eeeeeeeep sound" in the affected ear for about 1 minute, after which all is back to baseline.

Does anyone have anything similar?
Anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Fleeting T, most people get this even without having T. I used to get it long long before I got Tinnitus. Sounds strange but I actually like it now because it's a welcome break from the head fuzz

I wonder what the brain is doing?
this should be investigated.

Do you hear silence any moment inbetween this?

I myself do not experience this.

I agree. If we knew what the brain was doing this could unlock the key to tinnitus. It can happen in healthy and damaged hearing brains so if we could identify the mechanism in both it would be a revelation.

@HollowZer0 As far a it can be called normal, this is pretty normal. An awful lot of people have the same experience (as mentioned above). I had this since I was a child, many episodes that I just accepted as normal and never discussed with anyone. A lot of others also experienced this from a young age.

I used to get this a lot...a microsecond of hearing loss...followed by very loud t...which fades almost instantly. It hasn't happened in 7 months...hmm

Nice to hear that others have experienced the same. I'll probably ask a professional at some point but it's good to know that I'm not the only one. It's less of a worry to me that way :p

@Contrast Yes I do actually hear complete silence for that second of no hearing. T is 100% gone from that ear for the duration of the "deafness" I forgot to mention that in the OP.

Weird stuff.
