Hi all,

I'm looking at doing a few sound recordings, getting some outdoor samples of anything and everything.

Just wondered what sort of sounds you all like - as a bonus for sharing I'll even send some samples on to you once I've got the recordings.

Crickets, but not cicadas which, for me, can be too overpowering, with a brook or rain shower combination. Not to be ugly, but I thought mine was in the works already. I chose a cricket from a list you sent.

I can still remember the day when I was finally able to again read. It felt like my life had been given back to me.

I have a terrible memory sometimes, well most times, if it isn't written down it disappears off into the ether. Hence I take no offence at all in being given a nudge, or even a kick, as I generally need it. I will try and get to your sounds this week - I'm making a list (the procrastinators greatest tool).

Thanks Steve. I hope I didn't sound mad. I'm not, and wasn't. God knows, I forget all the time. Of all the girlfriends I've had over the years, not one gave me a break on that score.

Is this the recording we were to get for donating to the Tinnitus Network? or was that done and I missed it?

I like crickets and birds. For relaxation, I like rivers and gentle rain storms.

I got a few recordings recently, mainly water, going to get out and try and get the others soon.

The attached is from a recording in the Dales, beautifully complex water sound recorded on top of a stone in the middle of a stream. You can download it and loop the file seamlessly.

I can listen to this and totally tune out my tinnitus by concentrating on the complex, chaotic patterns of the water.
