Put yourself into his shoes. He followed certain advice, and ended up with debilitating T. Then he sees you giving that same advice. Can you blame him?!
I understand a person can get upset for whatever reason or even losing their temper. However, one should exercise restraint and refrain from hailing abuse and bad language towards someone, especially when that person is trying to be of help, even when you don't agree. By being cordial and conducting oneself as a gentleman or a lady for that matter, shows good breeding and that you were brought up well and not dragged up. Sorry that is the way I see it.
I do not want to discuss this matter further Bill, so please end it here.
Thank you.
Michael
However, before you decide that it is mostly a mental problem, let's not lump all the causes of T together, and focus on identifying the underlying cause, and then applying a directed fix the problem, and avoid painting with such broad strokes.
Sometimes we may be able to pin point the reason for why tinnitus comes around and sometimes we may not. Tinnitus is not a mental issue, but an unstable mind and panic/stress/fear/paranoia can rattle tinnitus and make it much louder. It can keep a spike going on much longer.
@Michael Leigh is spot on with his words, the man has over 20+ years experience with tinnitus. he has lived with it and dealt with it and he knows what he is talking about.
Even if we know the underlying cause, there is no guarantee that even a fix can help it. Tinnitus is beyond a complex matter and unfortunately that is the reality we face.
