Typically, I don't hear my tinnitus at night, but last night was something else. Static filling my ears, and woke up with clogged ear first time in few month. I quickly analyzed last night - I ate a lot of sweets before going to bed, and didn't sleep well.

I have seen some posts where users attribute tinnitus spikes to sugar. Do you have any other verified (happens consistently) food triggers that cause tinnitus spikes?

I don't think I've noticed a spike from food other than Casey's pizza. That seems to spike it. Loud noises spike mine.

Are you sure that it's what you eat and not your sleep position? I sometimes get a spike if I fall asleep on my back with my head turned to the right. It took me a while to recognize the pattern and I still don't know what's going on with the muscles and nerves in that area, but it happens consistently with that position. If you have blood sugar issues or are eating a ton of sweets before bed and no protein, your diet might influence your sleep quality and that might play into it. However, it might just be the position itself.

It would be interesting if you could confirm that this happens every time. Of course, to make test valid we need to give you pizza from Casey's as well as other places as placibo, without telling you ;-)

I pretty much sleep the same every night. I twist a bit, but my positions are the same. My T rarely wakes me up at night, and this was special.

Trust me it does. Every time.

Interesting what it could me. Bill mentioned dairy above, maybe it's the cheese.
