Hi all!
I've had tinnitus now for a good 4 months.
I have TMJD, and I've had 2 TMJ specialist along with my PT say my tinnitus is from my TMJD.
So, this morning around 5am I woke up and it was somewhat blaring in my left ear, which is where I also have a lot of jaw issues/pain.
It went on for a good couple minutes (i think) and it freaked me out!
The last time I had a spike, is when I ate beef jerky (yes I know, that's asking for it when you already have TMJD) and my jaw got so stiff, then my right ear spiked for like 10s and went away.
But this morning my jaw did not really hurt nor did I have a lot of muscle tension. In fact it felt more like I was in a dream because it went away just as fast as it came on.
The only thing I had done differently yesterday was go to the gym. I worked on the elliptical, but that was like at 10am.
I feel fortunate that my tinnitus is only heard when there is absolute silence but this mornings spike has me on edge.
Are spikes common?
Should I be expecting more in the future?
It's making me feel anxious right now, I'm having a hard time calming down
