Hey all, my friend Stephanie told me her tinnitus which was noise induced went away after 2 years. She said she got it from using power tools for woodworking or something like that with no ear protection and often. She said she couldn't hear well and had to ask people "what?" a lot.

She said she had no money to see doctors when she got tinnitus and just put up with it until one day she had a doctors appointment and noticed a lot of wax in her ear. They syringed her ear and she said the tinnitus went away immediately.

So perhaps it started as noise induced tinnitus and then earwax built up in the ear as a result and exacerbated the tinnitus. Anyways she lives in silence now!

Hope this gives you guys hope.

i like this but maybe she just had impacted ear wax the whole time and now just doesn't notice her tinnitus anymore. Id love to have my ears cleaned but i just cant take the risk.

@john paul, this is possible that it was ear wax the whole time but she said she got it after being around loud power tools so it must have started by noise. Either way even two years later it can go away. She says she hears no tinnitus whatsoever

So do you think it was noise induced or because of the wax?

I have pulsating tinnitus. I had open heart surgery 5 years ago.

They want to give me an MRA to see if I have any vein problems in the neck or the head.

Does anybody on this forum have pulsatile tinnitus and does anything help you?

She never had tinnitus in the first place. She heard noises due to wax build up, fairly common.

When I got my tinnitus -in a loudly concert - I had my right ear full of wax. The ENT told me that wax even works as protection at some level for noise. The tinnitus started in my right ear. One week later my tinnitus was in both ears and in the left ear(the clean ear during the concert) is worst right know.

Hope she now protects her hearing when using power tools, and avoids further loud noise exposure, and not only attribute this to wax buildup only.
