Yes, be cautious of private or insurance-based services that claim otherwise. They are often motivated by payment. Anything beyond a few days is unlikely to be effective.

In the UK, steroids are only recommended when there is measurable and significant hearing loss. It is not recommended for tinnitus of any duration.
 
Delivery of steroids intratympanically in a nanoparticle format was compared with a standard steroid solution. This study focused on sudden sensorineural hearing loss, not tinnitus. In 42 percent of cases, no hearing was restored. The nanoparticle solution performed better than the standard solution.
