Cause of Tinnitus
Acoustic Trauma
Came across this story today. I am not sure if this has been posted before, but user "quietkids" on this page reports having recovered from Tinnitus after an acoustic trauma when posting about it 4 years later. I think it might be helpful to some.

Especially the last few posts could be interesting. The user reports "no more lingering tinnitus".

I met a sound engineer this weekend that completely recovered after like a year of tinnitus.

It does happen.

My ears are barely ringing and I saw 4 sets of a jam band this weekend.

The thing is the latest post before she announced her recovery was 4 weeks after her trauma, and at 4 weeks her tinnitus was going on and off, a sign that she was on her way to recovery. I like to think that I'm slowly getting better, but it's impossible to tell.

I do find the idea of inflammation being helpful to healing interesting. It reminds of a post where someone recovered from years of tinnitus a month after a bee stung their ear.

Was the person stung by a bee on this forum? I recall that, but it was only temporary and not a full recovery. Their tinnitus returned.

Yeah, I remember seeing it on this forum and thinking it would be worth a try. I didn't think explaining how I wanted a bee to sting me would go over well, so I never pursued it. If it's the same guy, that's disappointing.
