Strange Hollow Feeling and Loud Ocean Sound in Ear After Air Brake Incident

I hope someone can shed some light on this.

When I tap on my head or cover my right ear, it sounds dead and hollow, almost like tapping on a microphone or an inflated balloon. Sounds seem to stop abruptly. I can no longer hear my heartbeat from within that ear. However, a hearing test this week showed only minor hearing loss compared to my last test two years ago. At that time, I had experienced some sudden hearing loss, which was treated and improved with steroid injections into that ear.

Now, sounds are distorted when I watch TV or listen to people speak. Even music sounds echoed at the end of each note.

About ten days ago, while walking with my husband, a bus released its air brakes right next to me, directly into my ear. I thought I was okay at first, although it did hurt. A few days later, I had a long dental cleaning session with my mouth open for an extended time. My jaw is problematic, so that may have contributed.

My left ear is experiencing similar issues, but when I tap on it, it has a normal airy sound. I can feel air moving into it. In contrast, no air moves into the "dead" ear, and there is no ringing either. Instead, I hear a loud ocean sound, followed later by a buzzing sensation.

Has anyone else experienced this kind of dead ear?

By the way, when I first wake up, it is not loud like the ocean. But as the day goes on, the sound grows so loud that it becomes difficult to hear over it, and I feel increasing pressure.
