Cause of Tinnitus
* Ear infection * 20 years later huge sound increase due to stress
I was doing fine, but due to some vicious, relentless and evil colleagues in the office, I got very stressed again last month. They really pisssed me off. And by that period my tinnitus increased once more.
This is another spike!

Do you think it is a coincidence, or does stress really cause tinnitus?
If it is the case, do you have any idea, which mechanism increases it?
I hope some more cells in the cochlea have not died !

Ozzy your tinnitus will settle back down, I have been going thru the same thing for months with
Stress from work, home, business and tinnitus roaring away and very little sleep. This cycle has
Exhausted me and waking up to the tinnitus blasting and another day of high stress has worn
Me out.

Thanks Denny for the response. I really hope it settles back down again.
And I hope that your stressful days pass soon and your tinnitus diminishes.

I hope so Denny. I was doing fine f0r months, but this new spike is really annoying.

And yes buddy, our tinnitus started about the same time !!
I hope we will get over it soon.

@Ozzy if its from stress it sure might calm down. And you are not alone on the stupid colleagues and stressful job thing...

Yeah Stina.... Same problems in every part of the world.
We are lucky to have this forum where we share our problems..
Thank you very much...

Ozzy, I wish you strength going through this.
I cannt tell you what a spike is. Mine was constant right from the start.
A high-pitched dog whistle.
Mine was caused by stress. Stress is reduced, but T remained.
But I don't think that stress can damage hair cells.
So you will be fine and it will go down again.

Thank you Martin... I'm not depressive due to the tinnitus,
but this increase in the volume is really disturbing me.

I think my previous tinnitus was due to the stess.. But this increase, too??
When I have any stress again, I hope my T. does not increases more and more!

By the way, thank you very much for your encouraging words...

I had a short 6 week T experience in 2012. Dismissed it and moved on with life. 2014 has been stressful! I woke up 4/4/14 with loud T in both ears due to stress, allergies, poor sleep and an exhausted immune system. No other reason.

It is impossible to avoid stress in the modern world, we have to condition ourselves
To block it out. Tinnitus may seem worst because stress has weaknened your defenses.

Yeah. Same here Jay,
I hope we can get over it soon, whatever the reason is...

Hey Ozzy, sorry to hear your not doing so hot, but don't forget everything you've learned over the years with T. When we get stressed and emotional our brains are get inhibited and we cant think straight. We literally make decisions based on emotion and don't know the difference. Of coure you know stress makes you concentrate on T more. I can literally start thinking about my T and the volume will rise and rise to unbearable levels. Give it some time, work on eliminating the stress, hopefully that doe the trick. By the way, I have family Istanbul just that was your location beautiful city. @Ozzy
