Suicidal Tinnitus — Fact or Fiction?

I don't think suicide rates are higher in tinnitus people vs general population.

I'm not sure sure about the hyperacusis/reactive T numbers though.
I've been in this thread before. Here's my one farthing worth of thought. We have no facts
about actual suicide rates in the general population (and where - globally or in our respective
country). We have a bit of incite as to what
tinnitus is capable of doing. It sometimes goes away on its own. Some people deal with
it for an amazingly long time. I can pretty accurately say I won't be one of those who has it long-term - 10+ years.

Drugs are everywhere any many list suicidal tendencies as a side-affect. But it doesn't mean
that T sufferers think about it due to drugs - way beyond benzos - they're just mentioned here
frequently but it can (granted). T can be debilitating. It can make you bonkers. I've seen that
it may cause a person to consider escaping it. That makes absolute sense to me.

Greetings, my name is Ryan Davies and I'm 15 years old. I would just like to inform you all that tinnitus isn't permanent! I have a passion to one day become a world class ENT specialist. I feel that I can cure, yes cure tinnitus. You people needn't worry, as the future holds a stop to tinnitus... FOR GOOD. I'm not fussed if you all perceive me to being "mad"! But one day, we will find a solution. Thank you, stay hopeful and take care. Ryan.

This stupid thread should be deleted. (thanks for kicking it Ryan...)

It´s an offense to all who have reactive killer tinnitus with several loud blasting sounds (im quoting @NiNyu here)

What is the point of this thread? Denying that it exists so some people with mild T can feel safe ?

Yes, this shit exists and I and handfull of people on this board have to deal with it every day. Always on the edge and we have tried almost everything there is.

So please, if you want to feel optimistic (which is a good thing) then use threads in "succes stories"

Snow86, I apologise if I offended you or if I was somehow insulting. I only want to help people, I did not intend to offend you or anyone else on this thread/post. Although, I disagree on some of the points you made... You said I was denying that tinnitus exists... I never said such a thing, if I did would you please quote me on that. And if you want to hear success stories then I can tell you I had pulsatile tinnitus for a short time and that then persisted to disappearing. I will however add that I would agree I was inappropriate. I realise that there are a lot of people who suffer from severe long term tinnitus and I have no right to be making promises that I can't specifically deliver. I'm really sorry that you have to deal with severe tinnitus on a day to day basis. But, I'm only trying to help and I do not feel I deserve the criticism that I deserve. Thank you, Ryan.

I am 7 months into this nightmare and I still have daily suicide thoughts....some days the thoughts are worse then others, but not a day passes me by where I dont think "I cant handle this anymore, Id rather be dead" :(

I have had depression on/off for 10 years and have been suicidal before, but never longer then 1-2 months, and never as serious as now.....but this time it is VERY different.

Of course people kill themselves solely because of tinnitus. And more then what we think/know of.
