Hello all,
I recently stumbled across this 2016 article from the online magazine "Stanford Medicine". I found it so fascinating I wanted to share it here. It's a highly readable summary of the discovery and treatment of Superior Canal Dehiscence Syndrome. I was especially struck by the stories of many patients enduring years-long frustration with medical "professionals", to finally end up diagnosing themselves online and getting in touch with these researchers via email.
[Stanford Medicine]Hearing things: Patients were bothered by the sounds of their eyeballs, their digestive systems, their blood. One look in their eyes, and a surgeon-scientist knew why
Best wishes,
Della
