Hello everyone. I am writing this as a kind of support message to everyone who has recently become victims of the sound from hell.

You may feel like there is no coming back from this, the tinnitus is just too horrible. Believe me I've been there, I have had tinnitus now for 2 years and in the beginning it was hell. But trust me when I tell you that it will get better with time, your brain will adjust to the tinnitus and so will you, give it time.

The first months are always the hardest. We have all been there so you are not alone in this.

Give it a couple of months and you will notice progress, and most of all STAY STRONG and ALWAYS remember that YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

I will merely amend the above for some comic relief.

In the early months, Satan is punishing you more than you thought possible. We have all read about Chinese water torture but never thought we would become such a victim.

Then, after about 2 years of relentless beat down and resignation, one with tinnitus merely lives in garden variety hell. :arghh:

I know your post was made with good intentions, but we should avoid making unrealistic promises.
The truth is, that some will get better, some will stay the same and some will get worse.

Of course it varies from person to person, but I think it is safe to say that a person in the early stages of coping is a lot worse than once you get used to it. But you are right to say that some don't get better and I should have kept that in mind.
