Has anyone had surgery whilst they've had tinnitus and what effect did it have if any on the tinnitus?

I know one woman whose tinnitus started when she woke up after major surgery. I'm sure this is likely to be pretty rare, I don't want to scare anyone, but I wondered about others' experiences as I may have to have surgery.

I just underwent major surgery less than 2 months ago and I can say that I did not find that anesthesia had any noticeable effect on my long term, chronic and debilitating tinnitus level. Mind you my tinnitus is very loud in the 8-9 range. What I did find is that the painkillers (like paracetamol) given after the surgery spiked my T, and so I was careful to limit them as much as I could. It took me 4 weeks I d say to overcome the spike.

I had surgery for my pneumothorax (collapsed lung) in december and didn't notice an increase of my t upon waking up. I just think the painkillers and motrin they gave me may have spiked it a bit.
