Hello everyone,

Has anyone experienced a temporary reduction in tinnitus volume following swimming or a day at the pool?

I have high pitched tinnitus that is often masked by the sound of water (shower, etc) but recently after a day at the pool with my nephews, the tinnitus almost disappeared for a few hours. Of course it was back at full force in the morning, but it was nice while it lasted.

Anyone else experience this? I'm not sure if it was the water or maybe the high pitched voices/ excited screams of my nephews (ages 4-8) that did it...

My guess is it can be due to increased blood flow and moving neck and shoulders, if you were swimming.

In case you were sunbathing and then went into the pool without swimming, then maybe the warm - cold effect of sun and water...

Hey @Ryan Jones,

Yup I have the same thing. Swimming is AMAZING at lowering my T. In fact it lowers it for the entire day... Bliss.

Do you front crawl? Or just leisurely swim? I front crawl you see.

Hi guys!!
I also want to pick up swimming!!

Are you guys swimming with earplugs or without it?

I am thinking that maybe I will buy silicone earplugs especially Made for water, so that may ears stay out from the wet and that there is no harm being Made to the ears!

It has been reported many times that submerging in cold water could stimulate parasympathetic central nervous system. There was even a trial with many volunteers, if you search you can find here.

Did you notice if the water was particularly cold?

It is the same principle when you get a fright, you can notice a temporary tinnitus disappearing.

Hi @Maarryy123 no earplugs for me, but that's probably not a bad idea!

Yep, swimming is great low impact cardio, do recommend!

let me know if you notice a T difference after.
