People on this forum reported getting serious T spikes after being exposed to noises that are even more minor than the above. Our ears have been compromised. What a healthy person won't even notice can have very serious consequences for one of us.Feel like tinnitus got louder in one of the ears. Again, I had ear plugs in and it turns out the sound really wasn't going much about 95db on average. With my earplugs, that means the NRR rating at its LOWEST should have had things at 70db, and the higher side it should have been 60s db probably.
I was only there for one to two hours and took breaks. Is this all in my head? What is going on, I am so confused.
" iwholovemusic " had a spike for about 2 years after loud event . I remember he had posted this about 2-3 years ago .
He was also wearing ear plugs and ear muffs !
It's been passed 3 month mark and I still have this annoying spike, the ear pain is gone but the spike remained.
Yes. I have Noise induced T. My spike was due to going out to a bar/day drinking/brewery/lots of alcohol. Since that day my T has been screaming.
No live loud music, just a restaurant and a lot of people in it.

I could go on and on and on (provide links to more horror stories where people found out the hard way that it was a bad idea to rely on earplugs), but you get the idea.
Check outSo, do spikes go down or how do I know if a spike will go down? I've already taken steps to state I will not be attending events like the one I did and if she doesn't like it she can walk. I just want to hope that this isn't permanent. I just want to know when I can know if this is just a spike that will go away.
Also, the earplug NRR ratings were as followed: 125Hz - 25.8dB, 250Hz - 26.2dB, 500Hz - 26.9dB, 1000Hz - 28.8dB, 2000Hz - 34.0dB, 4000Hz - 35.3dB, 8000Hz - 39.0dB.
I feel like that should have protected me, no?
In the long run, you might be ok, or you might not be ok. If you start hitting a wall with a hammer, it will take a while before you see the objects on the other side of the wall.Since getting T I've been to several parties and bars with earplugs and appart from a spike of T and H for the next day, it didn't worsen anything permanently.
If it is still there three months after onset, there is a good chance that it is permanent (although some hope still remains that it might be temporary). Temporary spikes can take months to resolve. Is this a temporary spike? How do I know?
I think a new tone is in one of my ears that I rarely heard tinnitus in and it is louder in that ear. This is from the incident last week. I don't know what to do. Is this a temporary spike? How do I know?
What else can I do at this point? I'm so tired of life. I'm tired of this. I'm tired of not knowing what is a temporary spike and what is permanent. I'm tired.
Someone please help me as I don't know what to do now. I'm taking NAC and magnesium still.
She had demonstrated that she doesn't care about him. You don't think this is worth breaking up over?If you truly care about your girlfriend this isn't something worth breaking up over.

I agree with you. My sister is a doctor and, at least as a doctor, she should know that inner ear damage exists and IT is better for a person to rest.. but nooooo, she was nervous for a couple of days and so she had to yell all day.... Even though I told her to shut up.. she did not want.. she gives no fuck... I don't need her her hugs or buying me stuff, I Just need her to respect my damage as I respect her work and sacrifice... Frankly, i really don't care about her.. no compassion whatsoever... If she gets hurt one day, I Will behave Just Like her, cold and I Will Just walk away.... BC I have my own shit to put up with...So my gf knows I have issues with my ears, but of course fails to understand fully what that means like everyone else in the world that don't have to worry about these things.
I just got off taking prednisone for another loud incident. My gf has been waiting to go to a Christmas party for a month that ALWAYS has too loud music and loud speakers. She knew about my recent noise exposure that cause me to take meds.
But she was upset if I didn't go. I went. I wore earplugs that are high fidelity and rated 32 dB. The noise in the place was about 100 to 105db sometimes.
Now I worry is messed up my ears but am not sure. I did wear earplugs and walked away from the room from time to time.
But I feel like just breaking up with her at his point. It's like she doesn't understand that I just took pills for an incident and is too immature to understand maybe JUST MAYBE I don't want to go and I shouldn't be guilt tripped into doing so.
What do I do? Do I break up with someone over this? What is it going to take for her to understand that if I just took pills for noise, that going to a loud party EVEN WITH EAR PLUGS is a bad idea.
I'm just angry with her and tired of her. I'm tired of others. I am tired of dealing with a world of people who don't have to deal with my problem and simultaniously don't care about my problem and refuse to understand.
What do I do?
