I have been diagnosed with Tensor Tympani Surgery 2 weeks ago. It has flared up about 3 to 4 weeks ago, and it's making my life a living hell. Throughout some portions of the day, and most mornings when I wake up, I get a loud, vibrating spasm every 10 to 30 seconds. The spasm muffles my sound and I literally feel it vibrating behind my ear.
My doctor said I can try a Magnesium dose, and so far I'm on 11 days with it, taking 1000mg every morning, but to no avail. I heard about surgery, but there is barely any information on google about this procedure.
What is the success rate of the TTS surgery? Will it permanently affect my way of life (can I still go to concerts and loud places)?
I feel very down and depressed because of this, I even tried lowering my stress/anxiety levels but it still doesn't help me.
