Hi,
I have tinnitus sinds december 2015. It started with a hissing sound in my left ear and some noices in my head. The ENT told me I have a very limited hearing loss in my left ear. The MRI was ok.
Since then the problems are getting worse. My left ear is reacting to all type of sounds. It starts hissing or ringing and after some exposure of noice I hear electrical sparks near my ear or even in my head.
The most annoying is that I hear those terrible noices when I am not active. I can't read a book or watch television because my ear (the one without the hearing loss) starts making whoozing sounds. I like to read and it is a great way to relax, but it is not possible any more. I can't mask the sounds because my left ear starts hissing of bleeping and after a while I get a terrible electrical buzzing in my head.
When I try to get to sleep I have the same problem, but there are more sounds. Wheezing, buzzing (sometimes electrical), and sparklings. When I wake up at night the sounds are gone but they return as soon as I am awake. When I close my ears I can hear the sounds in my head.
I really don't know what is going on. I try to do my best to relax. I go jogging, walking, practice yoga, eat healthy, and don't drink alcohol. I am on mirtazapine since may years and my doctor adviced me to increase the dose, but I am to afraid that this will worsen the sounds in my head.
I have read in this forum that the best thing to do is do the things you normally do. But the problem is this is not possible, because my ear reacts to all sounds and after exposure to sounds (even talking with someone) my ear starts screaming and I have the electrical sparks all over my head.
Does anyone have the same problems? And what can you advise me to do?
Thanks
