Hello everybody,

Only recently I found out Hansi Cross is not alive anymore... what sad news! I came to know that he died of cancer.

Does anybody know if it was brain cancer? I think it's extremely important that we make sure laser therapy is safe and unrelated to cancer!

Thank you.

I spent some time and tried to research and come up with what type of cancer he had, because I'm interested in it myself. Unfortunately I was not able to obtain that information. I was thorough, I even read (with Google translate) a lot of the posts that were online made by him in Swedish, looking for the word cancer (in Swedish).

There were some hits but none where he mentioned his type of cancer, he was just critical of the medical establishment or something. If somebody wants to try to do a better job at trying to find it you can try. His recovery with LLLT was very similar to mine, he started it when similar duration of time had passed since getting it and the way his spikes happened were similar etc. May he rest in peace.

Do you recommend the LumoMed treatment? I inquired about the one in Florida. Kind of expensive if it doesn't do anything. I only got one referral from them which is odd, especially if they treated about 100 people or so.

Do you recommend the LumoMed treatment?
I tend to agree with @Jan64, if your tinnitus has become chronic you can expect a much lesser improvement, if any improvement at all. I started treatment 3 months in with the Konftec device and have been very diligent with it for 1.5 years, that's why I have had very good results.

Kind of expensive if it doesn't do anything.
I guess you've got to weigh the cost to benefit ratio, what are your resources and how much the money matters to you vs how much improvement you're hoping for. If your tinnitus is totally chronic and I was you, I'd try PRP in Korea or stem cells instead (I understand that they're more expensive), but that's just me. There's also value in the laser helping future spikes, if you were to get them.

Thank you! So would you recommend LLLT? What laser did you use?

So would you recommend LLLT?

I would but like I said, only in the acute phase(3 months or less ideally, the sooner the better, post 6 months it becomes quite ineffective imo) and you need to commit to doing it for years plus weather the first "storm" or spike of tinnitus that usually happens. The exact model I've been using is Konftec emLas 520BCB.

Hi!

I contacted Hansi Cross's ex fiancée/widow just a few days ago and asked her about this among other relevant questions, and got these answers.
Question said:
Did he get cancer from using the earlaser?
Hansi Cross's ex fiancée's answer said:
No, he died from leukemia which he have had since long before he started to use laser to treat his tinnitus. his early symptoms was misdiagnosed as borrelia (by himself i think) which later on was revealed to be caused by leukemia.
---
Question said:
How did he get his tinnitus in the first place?
Hansi Cross's ex fiancée's answer said:
Listening to extremely loud music for long periods of times, as he was a musician and sound technician.
---
Question said:
What kind of tinnitus did he have?
Hansi Cross's ex fiancée's answer said:
Mix of different very loud sounds constantly.
---
Question said:
Did the laser work?
Hansi Cross's ex fiancée's answer said:
He said it improved his tinnitus considerably and strongly promoted the laser, claming it helps the hearingcells to repair/regenerate. (Or something like this; she doesn't recall the exact details on how he claimed the laser to work.)

Question said:
What kind of laser did he use?
Hansi Cross's ex fiancée's answer said:
I don't know, only that it was some red light and that I got a warm sensation in my ears after trying it a little, after he recommended me to use as he claimed it can also be good to prevent hearing loss etc.

These are all the answers I've got so far. Does anyone know what exact type of laser Hansi Cross used? I would really love to know.

Thanks for posting the questions and answers.

There's a link to the WayBackMachine page a few posts up that saved Hansi's website, where he meticulously detailed everything he did and how his recovery progressed, plus what he used. It's been years since I last read it, but I believe he used mostly a laser from Dr. Wilden and there was a shorter period with a Konftec laser.
