The Future Role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Treatment of Tinnitus

So I just wanted to start a conversation about something that will inevitably be coming up in the next few years. That is the role of artificial intelligence in the curing/treatment of tinnitus. Already they have been experimenting with AI diagnosing successfully certain diseases, and it looks in a few years time that this will start entering the clinic.

I wonder in what way will the research community be able to harness AI for tinnitus. Will it be in the research area where super intelligent AI will be able to think though possible options and connections that we as humans have not even considered? Will it be in the testing stage of medications where it will already be able to tell us if something will work based on the millions of interactions between human physiology and substances that it knows? I think this is a very exciting field even for tinnitus research, and I think we should not be surprised if the eventual solution will be found this way.

I think that's the key. I don't think artificial intelligence will necessarily be better than humans at discovering drugs for chronic illnesses, but it will benefit from being much more scalable. Once we can reliably model the interaction between different chemicals, it will make drug discovery much more productive in future, when humans can run highly accurate simulations to know which drugs are most promising to investigate further.

Keep in mind that there is a lot of hype in the media around artificial intelligence right now, however, so be sure to take everything you read with a grain of salt.

Thank you for that explanation @Casper i feel like there is indeed a lot of hype, but if you see what they have accomplished in a short time already, that makes me excited for the future.
