I never posted in the Introduce Yourself section when I first arrived at Tinnitus Talk.
Last Thursday I noticed a cough coming on,which I thought might have been my 3 or 4 cigars I smoked that day.
I've been smoking (and inhaling them deeply into my lungs) since October after a noise exposure made my tinnitus worse. At the time I knew it was bad for me and I was self harming in a way.
Anyway, Friday comes about and it's obviously a virus... headache, bones, muscles, old war wounds hurting me and sure enough I felt dreadful. And spaced out.
Then I started to cough more violently to the point where my ribs and stomach hurt. And that's when I started coughing up dark brown cigar coloured phlegm by the bucket load. The virus wouldn't let me sleep either...every time I sit upright hoping to nod off... it makes me cough violently again.
Tonight my heart was really beating fast. So I measured it with a calibrated monitor. 117 bps. That's recalled tachycardia. I took some Propranolol to slow it down and rang the NHS and I'm waiting on a call from a Primary Care Doctor.
Not sure what happens next but this virus has been so bad I've said all week it's going to kill me.
