I found this article randomly browsing the web. This breathing method is supposed to help you get asleep really quickly which would be very helpful to tinnitus sufferers.
I've tried this for couple of nights and it really does something! First I had a problem with the counting but now I've figured it out. I can definitely say it makes me fall asleep quicker than normally

Sounds very similar to something called four square breathing. There are a lot of breathing techniques out there, used in meditation, anxiety control, etc. And yes, a lot of them really help. I use four square breathing for anxiety. Secret is to practice it so when you use it, your body will more quickly respond.
