Tinnitracks — A New Audio App Claims to Treat Tinnitus

Done lots of research for months on things like this and have not found any independent review that these things work just like the Levo system, ACRN. I would hang tight till a real treatment comes about.

For German members:

They seriously want health insurances to pay for this.

#Sonormed, the provider of @Tinnitracks, is planning a basic tinnitus therapy, which should be covered by all health insurances.

Or just get the apk.

I might try this then.

1000 German users rated the app:
  • 52% said the app had no effect
  • 11% said their tinnitus got worse
  • 5% said their tinnitus got significantly worse
"The German Society of Otolaryngology cannot recommend the use of the app. Studies of the University of Münster could not prove that TMNMT works better in tinnitus than placebo."

"Much more important than the loudness, however, is the perceived distress, which did not improve in the study." said med. Gerhard Hesse, Bad Arolsen"
- Of course, this is coming from an ENT and founder of a tinnitus clinic here in Germany. They really think that tinnitus loudness doesn't matter at all. As the German Tinnitus Association said, tinnitus is just a "matter of perception".

I'm living in Germany and since my insurance covers this, I'm giving Tinnitracks a try.

I've been doing it since June now, and there it definitely has some effect on my tinnitus.

Some days when I have that high pitched tinnitus (12700 Hz) in my ear, I immediately put on my headphones and "silence it" with Tinnitracks. After some hours listening to it, when I remove my headphones, my tinnitus is more silent than it was before. That effect just does not last too long (maybe 1-2 hours until it ramps up again). Of course this does not always work. Sometimes the tinnitus is coming from inside my brain, and then I won't be able to silence it in any way.

I am a Software Engineer working from home due to COVID-19 and it's easy for me to listen to it like 4-5 hours a day. Other people with other Jobs may find it difficult to put up the least required 90 minutes per day.

I will definitely continue with the therapy and keep you up to date with the results.
