Has anyone heard of this before? This ENT doctor claims to have had tinnitus for years and figured out how to get relief from it without any devices or drugs. He claims that within hours or days you will have relief. Of course it has a money back guarantee.

If there is a post on this already I couldn't find it.

The Amazing Formula That I Found Is Called:
TINNITUS–ANXIETY RELIEF TECHNIQUES® (ART)

Anxiety Relief Techniques® has been effective in more than 90% of the thousands of cases where it has been applied. This self-help method is unlike anything we've ever had in the history of Western medicine. It incorporates recent discoveries about the electromagnetic communication system of the body–the meridian system. Asian cultures have studied and utilized this system therapeutically for more than 4000 years. Western medicine finally began to accept this information 40 years ago. Out of sheer desperation to find relief from my own suffering, I thoroughly investigated the body-mind connection and the mind-body connection. I did an in-depth investigation of acupuncture, acupressure, Oriental medicine, energy medicine, herbal medicine, holistic medicine, biofeedback, nutritional supplements, and the human meridian system. After years of research, I found a formula to relieve my suffering from tinnitus. No medications of any kind are used. No needles are involved. No hypnosis or hypnotherapy. No cognitive-behavioral therapy. No biofeedback. I discovered a method that is simple to apply–and it absolutely works! It yields consistent and predictable results. My video course–"Tinnitus: Taking Control"–shows you exactly how to relieve the suffering that your tinnitus has been causing. To gain the benefit, simply follow my complete step-by-step video instructions. Relief often begins within hours of applying my formula–not months or years later–within hours to a few days at most. I promise to show you–right in the comfort of your own home–exactly how to relieve your tinnitus suffering. As soon as your purchase is approved, you'll receive detailed instructions on how to view the videos in my course on your own computer. NOTE: This course is downloaded to your own computer and you watch it on your own computer. Nothing will be mailed to you. You can advance through the course at your own speed. Watch the videos as often as you like.

What's The Difference Between My Method and Others That You've Read Claims About On The Internet?
My Method Actually Works!

When You Do Exactly As Instructed, Your Suffering From Tinnitus Can Become A Memory From The Distant Past

I've read so many of these Goofy... we all do in the early days.

They rely on some people not asking for their money back.
They expect the placebo effect to work for some people.
This one may decrease anxiety (if it isn't the tinnitus causing the anxiety) but you can find anxiety lowering techniques that are just as good free of charge.
Base line is that they want your money.

If they really had suffered from tinnitus and found a way of gaining relief ... don't you think that they'd give it away rather than make money from it? I would think that anyone who suffers from tinnitus who found something that gave real relief from the anxiety it causes would be shouting it from the rooftops - for free - I can't imagine any of us charging for the information.

I agree. It is amazing how many gimmicks there are out there.

Someone, who shall be nameless had a little nose about on his site. Possibly places where he shouldn't go.

Long story short...the video is about EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) also known as tapping. Its a pretty old video. I remember seeing it on his main site a good few years ago and I think he was selling a hard copy version for two or three hundred dollars.

He has no choice but to offer a refund. It's a ClickBank product. This means he has to honour a 60 day refund policy. So if you do want to buy it, as it is a ClickBank product you get a no questions asked refund. You don't need to deal with the seller. All you have to do is contact ClickBank - the details will be on your receipt. You fill in a form, and a few days later you will be refunded.

Lets face it if it worked.
1) We wouldn't be here on this board
2) He would probably win the nobel prize ;-)

Hi All
Has anyone purchased this and had any good experiences.

I have GOT to do something about my damn T, it is driving me crazy now and getting me depressed again. I just cannot tune out of it. My ENT appointment cannot come soon enough but for the time being is this ART any good?
Appreciate anything you can suggest for temporary relief.
Thanks
Rich

You might check out the book, Tinnitus Treatment Toolbox. Written by an audiologist who has tinnitus, the book offers many treatment strategies to help you cope. At its heart, tinnitus is about coping and habituation. We all want a cure, but we must settle for tactics that make the tinnitus more bearable. And, in time, most people with tinnitus say it becomes less of an issue. You can purchase the book on Amazon. (http://www.amazon.com/dp/1426912153/?tag=tinntalk-20)

The book is really a no nonsense guide. But I wish the author had elaborated on some of her techniques.

I had no idea about ART but I found this and it's only $97:

But you better get in quick because:

I don't know how long I can maintain this low price. (My accountants remind me daily of the thousands of dollars I've spent researching these unique methods.) I'm offering this low price for a short time so that as many sufferers as possible can benefit from my discovery. All orders are processed and delivered by ClickBank–the world's largest and most secure online digital products provider.

Magpie,

The online "ad" above looks "cheesy" to me. Sorry about that - I hired a professional web designer to create the page a few years ago. My objective was and is to make this discovery available to as many as possible for a fee that most anyone can afford. It also carries a money-back guarantee through the most reliable online digital product supplier in the industry.

It was not and is not my intention to promote this course within this community. I have also provided several links to EFT, on which my method is based.

My intention here is to share information that may help many of you relieve your suffering.

Dr.Charlie, I found your " cheesy" site last year in the worst of my H when I was newly diagnosed.

No disrespect but your site does not look cheesy, it looks like a sales gimmick. Which is precisely why I did not purchase.

I certainly would hope that A. It's not a sales gimmick and B. Since you are well aware of H and T and claim to have a "cure"for H, you will gladly tell us fellow sufferers. Why withhold such valuable information that could change lives?

I worked Internet Marketing, if you want to to appear sincere and with peoples best health in mind, I would revise your site asap.

You may be an ENT and I respect that, but that site is not helping your credibility.

I hope you will help us, that is if you're able.

@Dr. Charlie:

Can you point us to any studies published in the juried scientific literature attesting to the efficacy of EFT or ART specifically in the treatment of tinnitus or tinnitus-related distress. I realize that it's next to impossible to do a well-controlled blinded study (same problem with CBT, TRT, NTT, etc.), but I'm looking for any studies at all. As you know, there are a host of poorly controlled published studies for CBT, TRT, and NTT - but I'm having trouble locating even that for EFT and ART. Please help.

Thanks much.

Allow me to address the comments and questions raised in this forum conversation.
1. First, I am a board-certified ENT specialist with outstanding training and many years of experience.
2. As described on my website, I suffered for years with tinnitus and hyperacusis.
3. As described elsewhere in this forum, in early 2004, I became interested in clinical hypnotherapy and explored its uses for many medical issues, including tinnitus and hyperacusis. I took several courses, and became board-certified in hypnotherapy. I found it somewhat helpful for the fear and anxiety associated with these conditions. I began seeing clients for issues that responded well to hypnotherapy, and continued to search.
4. While watching video presentations from a hypnotherapy seminar, I was introduced to EFT. I initially thought it quite ludicrous. I had no background experience or frame of reference at the time to understand what was occurring during the presentation. I dismissed it as pure nonsense.
5. Months later, I witnessed another presentation of EFT - for removal of longstanding phobias. I watched several participants gain almost instant relief from their phobias. I became intrigued, but remained skeptical.
6. I researched all that I could find about EFT, Mr Gary Craig (founder for EFT,) and his mentor, Dr Roger Callahan, a respected psychotherapist in Southern California. I asked my wife to watch the presentations. (She is also a board-certified hypnotherapist.)
7. My wife reminded me that she had enlisted the help of a therapist from Southern California many years before, to help with her fear of flying. She had paid him a significant sum for telephone sessions, which - at the time - I had dismissed as some sort of "feel good" talk. Regardless, it had worked, and her fear of flying had completely gone away. Involved with a busy surgical practice a the time, I had totally forgotten about this. Upon checking, it was Dr Roger Callahan who had conducted her sessions of TFT (Thought Field Therapy.) (Deb rarely throws anything away. She found a book of instructions that he mailed to her years before.)
8. I ordered books and read what Dr Callahan had written on TFT. I questioned his theory that "All negative emotions are caused by a disruption in the body't circulating energy system." Again, I had no frame of reference, so this was difficult for a conventionally trained MD to accept or even to comprehend. And I could find no published, peer-reviewed studies on his method. (That's another story altogether, for a later discussion.) Callahan's reports of numerous case histories were impressive, to say the least. So I persisted in my quest. Frankly, had I not been retired from my practice, I would never have had the time to invest in this search.
8. Craig's modifications of Callahan's technique made sense to me. He had greatly simplified its application, and termed his method EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques.) I decided to try EFT for myself. I ordered a course from Craig, and followed his instructions exactly. (I don't recall if he offered a money-back guarantee. He probably did. Quite frankly, I expected the technique NOT to work for me, so the price paid was like an admission fee to find out for sure. I applied EFT to minor fears. It worked as he said it did. I applied it to my own negative emotions of sadness, anger, regret, guilt, and frustration. It worked exactly as he had indicated. I asked my wife to apply EFT to some of her negative emotions. She did, and it worked well for her. (She is by nature and experience more open minded than I.)
9. I asked a few of my hypnotherapy clients if I might apply a new technique for some of their fear-based issues. They agreed, and the method worked amazingly well. It was just as effective - and fast - as Gary Craig claimed. Over the next several months, I studied other "energy" techniques as well, and spoke with many practitioners of this new method of self-help along with several similar methods. All reports were favorable, and from numerous sources. I found these practitioners to be warm, caring individuals, genuinely concerned with helping their fellow man. I did not encounter "snake-oil" salesmen. (Frankly, I have found more of these in the pharmaceutical industry and allied healthcare professions over the years.)
10. When the Fannie-Mae/Freddie Mac real estate debacle hit the U.S. around 2008, residential real estate prices crashed in many areas. Florida was hit extremely hard. Not being a seasoned investor, I had unwisely invested virtually all of our retirement funds in Florida real estate, when we moved there in 2004. We lost our home, and our entire retirement nest egg. Our total monthly income suddenly consisted of my Social Security payments, plus what Deb and I earned from a small Hypnotherapy practice.
10. The anxiety of our financial situation seemed to make many things worse, including my noise of tinnitus and hyperacusis (also ocular migraines - a different, but related story.) I applied EFT to these conditions, and found that it was quite successful for me. I was elated.
11. Over the next few years, I successfully conducted face-to-face sessions as well as telephone sessions for clients around the U.S. who suffered from the noise of tinnitus or hyperacusis, as well as other anxiety-related issues. I modified Callahan's and Craig's techniques somewhat, often incorporating self-hypnosis instruction and/or Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT,) which I found quite helpful for substance sensitivities - useful for many clients with Endolymphatic Hydrops. I named our modified method, Anxiety Relief Techniques (ART.)
12. I had not practiced or performed surgery in more than 10 years. I had allowed my license to practice expire. I explored many businesses that I could conduct from home. I took courses. I attended seminars. And I worked successfully at a few legitimate home businesses. (Talk about scam artists - the "work-at-home" field is replete with them.)
13. Based on the outstanding results I personally witnessed from ART among my clients, and what I had learned about marketing on the Internet, I hired a web designer to create websites that would make my instructional course available to people who suffered negative emotions (fear, frustration, anxiety, guilt, shame, sadness, remorse, etc.) I purposely price the video courses to make them affordable for anyone - at far less than they might otherwise spend for relief from other professionals. I placed my courses on the ClickBank site because of its reliability as the most trusted purveyor of digital-media products in the world. I have not yet attempted to attract affiliate marketers, though I may do so. (I am taking a course at present to learn how to accomplish this.)
14. My goal is to help as many people as possible around the world, who are suffering from fear of any kind. It is quite simple to remove the fear response from the human body, once you know how. The human body only exhibits two pure emotions - love or fear. These two emotions sit at either end of a continuum, so it's either - or. All other emotions are some admixture of the two. All negative emotions (anger, frustration, guilt, sadness, etc) represent a fear of something. Using "energy psychology" techniques - either ART, EFT, TFT, TAT, EMDR, QT (Quantum Techniques) or others - one can remove the fear response almost instantly. I have repeatedly seen this work for more than 10 years, in many thousands of applications. I have not submitted my results to any professional journals. A few others have done so, and I commend them. I invite Dr Nagler, Dr Jastreboff, or any physician who is more academically oriented than I, to personally investigate and objectively report on the method I helped evolve from the work of pioneers like Roger Callahan, PhD, John Diamond, MD, George Goodheart, DC, Gary Craig, Tapas
Fleming, and many others.
15. And no, all proceeds do not go to tinnitus research. I wish my current financial situation permitted us to do this. I believe that my first responsibility is to tithe 10% or more of our total monthly income to my God and those who help others find their way, and then to secure a safe, secure, and healthful home environment for my wife, our two adorable Yorkshire Terriers, and myself.
16. Whatever you choose to believe, and whatever course you choose to pursue, is not in my control, so I shall not devote my valuable time or additional attention to your concerns about whether or not my recommended methods work as claimed. I have made information available that I have found helpful for many others, as well as for myself and my family. Do with it what you will.

And may God continue to bless each of us.

Dr Charlie

Dr Nagler, I will search my files for references to studies I have read. Meanwhile, here's a page from one of my general anxiety relief websites. It deals with energy psychology methods used for PTSD, and references a few of the published studies:

Post Traumatic Stress – also known as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD) – is commonplace today among military men and women who have faced horrific wartime conditions and situations.

The human psyche is not able to experience such extreme physical or emotional traumas without suffering significant damage.

Until now, neither the military establishment nor conventional medicine has had an effective solution to offer. Meanwhile, the energy techniques described here have proven highly effective to relieve the suffering and reverse the symptoms ofPTSD.

As an example, Mr. Gary Craig demonstrated his technique [Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)®] a few years ago in a Veterans Administration Hospital in Los Angeles. Fortunately he videotaped all sessions while teaching his techniques to veterans suffering from severe cases of PTSD.

It is my understanding that Craig extended an open invitation for all staff psychologists, psychiatrists, and residents in training to observe his sessions. He and an assistant conducted sessions several times daily for one week. It is also my understanding that not one staff member – M.D., PhD, or R.N. – showed up to find out what Craig was doing.

I have personally watched the videotapes of these recorded sessions. The results experienced by these tortured veterans were astounding. Many obtained more relief following a few hours of applying this method than from all of their prior years of conventional treatment and brain-altering medications.

Our personal results confirm the effectiveness of these methods for victims ofPost Traumatic Stress or PTSD.

Isn't it time to embrace new methods to relieve the suffering of these brave men and women and their families who have sacrificed so much to keep our country safe?

Even civilians worldwide are now being exposed to horrific acts of terrorism. Thank God we finally have an effective means to deal with the psychic trauma and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) that results from such inhumane acts.

PTSD Experience & Studies

For lack of a more descriptive term, ART, EFT, TFT, and TAT are often grouped together under the category of "Energy Psychology" (EP.)

Respected EP researchers Drs Joaquin Andrade & David Feinstein reported a multicenter study of 31,400 patients followed in 11 allied clinics in South America over a period of 14 years. 36 therapists were involved. Once study involved 5,000 patients diagnosed with Anxiety Disorder. Of these, half were treated with Energy Psychology alone, and the other half were treated with conventional Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT – psychotherapy) plus conventional medications.

Results:

Patients who showed some significant improvement:

CBT + medication = 63%.
EP = 90%.

Patients who demonstrated complete remission of symptoms:

CBT + medication = 51%.
EP = 76%.

Average # of sessions required for reported results:
CBT +medication = 15 sessions.
EP = 3 sessions.

Comparison to conventional acupuncture:

Positive Response with conventional acupuncture (Needles) = 50%.
Positive Response with EP = 77.5%.

PTSD STUDIES

Case studies of 337 post-disaster victims in Kosovo, Rwanda, the Congo, and South Africa demonstrated significant improvement from EP in 334 victims (99%.) Details below.

The Green Cross, a humanitarian relief organization formed after the Oklahoma City bombings in 1995, recently adopted Energy Psychology techniques as a standard therapy in its post-disaster missions.

In Kosovo, approx 100 people were followed for 18 months after using one form of EP for "problematic emotional effects of 249 horrific self-identified memories." Of these, 247 (99.1%) were not merely improved, but reduced to "no emotional distress" on a scale of 0 to 10. The horrific memories, of course, remain, but are no longer emotionally disabling.

January 21, 2001, Dr Skkelzen Syla (Chief medical officer of Kosovo—similar to our Surgeon General, and a well respected MD and psychiatrist) investigated the treatments and then reported:

"Many well funded relief organizations have treated post-traumatic stress here in Kosovo. Some of our people had limited improvement, but Kosovo had no major change or real hope until we referred our most difficult trauma patients to Dr Johnson and his team. The success was 100% for every patient and they are still smiling to this day." (Carl Johnson PhD is a clinical psychologist, a diplomat of the American Board of Professional Psychology, and a retired PTSD specialist with the Veterans Administration.) Dr Johnson made 9 trips to Kosovo between Feb 2000 and June 2002. His later trips were primarily for the purpose of training local physicians

Dr Johnson's records indicate the following results:

COUNTRY # VICTIMS SUCCESSFUL # TRAUMAS FULLY RESOLVED

KOSOVO 189 187 547 545

SO AFRICA: 97 97 315 315
RWANDA 22 22 73 73
CONGO 29 28 78 77

TOTALS: 337 334 (99.1%) 1016 1013 (99.7%)

Dr Johnson wrote that his results "… feel embarrassingly too good to be true," but affirms that they do indeed reflect his experiences, and that he "recorded them exactly according to what happened." His results have been confirmed by the Chief Medical Officer and local physicians who worked with Johnson at the time.

The Humanitarian Committee for the Association of Comprehensive Energy Psychology has reported similar results working with over 300 tsunami victims. They report: "Strong rapid responses to the psychological aftermath of the disaster, including alleviating anxiety, depression, and anger as well as the successful resolution of earlier traumatic memories activated by the tsunami experience."

Green Cross founder Charles Figley, Ph.D., psychologist and leading figure in trauma treatment says, "Energy psychology is rapidly proving itself to be among the most powerful psychological interventions available to disaster-relief workers for helping the survivors as well as the workers themselves."

Rather than continuing to prescribe ineffective and often dangerous medications to our suffering military heroes, isn't it time that the U.S. Armed Services and Veterans Administration adopt these revolutionary methods as the primary therapy for victims of PTSD?

Bless you,

Dr Charlie

Dr Nagler: Here's another quick reference. Can you set up a private conversation for us to share some technical details? Or would members like to see this as well. I'm open either way:

Bringing a stressful memory to consciousness makes it susceptible to being reconsolidated so that the conditioned emotional link to the stressful memory is extinguished. When pulled to mind, the memory becomes "labile," subject to alteration before being re-stored. (Joseph LeDoux, NYU)

The stimulation of specific acupoints can deactivate areas of the brain that are involved with the experience of fear and pain.

When a memory or image that created hyperarousal is brought to mind, and acupoints are simultaneously stimulated that decrease activation signals in the amygdala (& other brain areas) the memory or image is de-linked from the stress response. When stored again, it will be less capable of stimulating hyperarousal. With repetition (retrieval, alteration, & re-storing,) this leads to extinction of the elevated limbic response.

I will locate specific references as time permits. Since retiring, I have become far more interested in the information conveyed than about who or where the studies were conducted or reported.

Dr Charlie

Dr Nagler,

Here's another reference to check out after the football game is over.

http://energypsych.com/readings/research-in-energy-psychology/

Enjoy!

I would love to see ART added as a component of TRT. Should you become a believer - after a personal satisfactory confirmation of its effectiveness - would you consider conducting a study and reporting it? It really does deserve to become available to sufferers around the world.

Dr Charlie

@Dr. Charlie, thank you for all the very detailed information on EFT and ART in response to my inquiry in Post #14. I appreciate the information and the time you devoted to assembling it.

If I understand you correctly, then, there are no published studies anywhere in the juried scientific literature (controlled or not) attesting to the efficacy of either EFT or ART in the treatment of tinnitus patients. Is that correct?

Dr. Stephen Nagler

[ART] really does deserve to become available to sufferers around the world.

As I understand it, ART already is available to sufferers around the world - for $97 on your website.

What you are asking me to do is participate in its promotion, and at this point in time I am not interested in doing that. I am flattered that you would ask, and I do thank you for the opportunity.

Dr. Stephen Nagler

As far as I know, yours can be the first study specifically directed toward tinnitus or hyperacusis. If you do so, be prepared for lots of skepticism and resistance from many of our more closed-minded colleagues. Were I 20 years younger, I would gladly take on this task. I hope you will consider doing so. The cause certainly justifies whatever energy you must expend. I believe adding ART training to the existing network of TRT counselors could be extremely beneficial for patients, physicians, and counselors alike.

I will be happy to share in the training for you or anyone willing to travel to my home. The full training can also be offered worldwide via a video course or seminars. I hope you will mention me in your bibliography as one who cared about others.

Dr Charlie

As far as I know, yours can be the first [ART] study specifically directed toward tinnitus or hyperacusis.

You see, I have a bit of a problem here. In another thread you posted an article of yours written in an authoritative tone that stated: "EFT and ART are highly effective [for relieving fear and anxiety from tinnitus.]" But as it turns out that there is not a single study in the juried scientific literature to back up that claim. I mean no disrespect; however, it seems that in actuality what you are doing is offering a personal opinion about your own product [ART] rather than presenting an independently established fact. I really wish you had made that clear earlier.

I believe adding ART training to the existing network of TRT counselors could be extremely beneficial for patients, physicians, and counselors alike.

Then you should be talking to Dr. Jastreboff and not to me. TRT is his baby. He developed all the protocols as well as the model upon which they are based. 100% of the credit goes to him, and he is the person who should be making that sort of very important decision.

@Dr. Charlie, you are a great resource for Tinnitus Talk and for the entire tinnitus community at large. My observations above do not change that fact, and I am thrilled that you are willing to devote your time and expertise to this site.

All the best -

Dr. Stephen Nagler

@Dr. Charlie
I understand that such therapies as EMDR and EFT can help with PTSD and the fear response. I have received successful EMDR therapy myself pre t.
I wonder however how these therapies have directly effected the tinnitus itself with your clients? i.e. Did the volume perception fade as the fear response was diminished? Any resolutions of chronic cases?
Thanks.

Did the volume perception fade as the fear response was diminished? Any resolutions of chronic cases?
@Lisa88:
My experience is that once the fear, anxiety, and any other negative emotions were removed by these methods - EFT, ART, TFT, etc, then the brain spontaneously began to ignore the associated sound of tinnitus. (Habituation.) Thus, the suffering was relieved. In many instances, this habituation takes place within a few hours to a few days.
While I'm familiar with EMDR, I have not used it for tinnitus, so cannot speak to that based upon personal experience. Dr Francine Shapiro has done a marvelous job with this method. EFT and ART have been so effective that I have seen no reason to apply EMDR for these conditions.

Some clients report that the volume of their noise also diminishes after their anxiety goes away. Since clients often live long distances from me, I have not documented this with audiological testing. I also believe that my personal noise is less than it was during the time that I suffered so badly. This is a purely subjective assessment on my part.
My objective with all forms of meridian therapy or energy medicine is to relieve the suffering caused by fear responses in the body, as a result of the noise of tinnitus or abnormal sound sensitivity of hyperacusis.

Re chronic cases - yes, the rate of habituation is the same in my experience. People who have suffered for many years often gain relief within a matter of a few hours. Some respond more slowly, some much faster.

I do find that those people who are on anti-anxiety medications, including benzodiazapines, respond more slowly.

Blessings,

Dr Charlie
