Long story short in Wales all students aged 18 my do a "research project". I wanted to do mine on tinnitus as I felt it would give me a good opportunity to further understand it. However it is deemed "not relevant" and "will not further my academic studies". So instead I'm now doing CO2 emissions, pollution etc because that is obviously way more relevant to me . If you could fill out this survey it would help a lot, only 7 questions based on opinion. Will take a minute at most! https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/RJ3VZTR

Anyway, I was discussing how best to collect responses and decided the game "Would you rather...?" was a great way of understanding people's priorities. So I came up with these questions before I was told it was irrelevant but thought might as well not let them got to waste so leave your answers below and may lead to some interesting discussion.

1. Would you rather...
a) Have tinnitus about 10% louder but know it can never get louder again (no spikes)
or
b) Continue with tinnitus as it is?

2. Would you rather...
a) Have a higher pitched sound
or
b) Have a lower pitched sound?

3. Would you rather...
a) Be clinically deaf
or
b) Continue with tinnitus as it is?

4. Would you rather...
a) Have a variable sound (pulsating or a song etc, apparently one woman hears the US's national anthem constantly)
or
b) Have a continuous sound?

5. Would you rather...
a) Experience no more physical ear pain (fullness of the ear, hyperacusis etc) but still have tinnitus
or
b) Stop hearing the tinnitus sound but still experience physical ear pain?

6. Would you rather...
a) Tinnitus be classed as a disability
or
b) Have the same "rating" as today

As I said this is meant to be a bit of fun so please enjoy and if you could spare a minute to fill out that survey that would be great!
Also if you did hear a song on repeat what would it be?

Thanks
Joe

1. Would you rather...

Have tinnitus 10% louder with no chance of it ever getting louder again.

2. Would you rather...

I think I would prefer lower pitch, but neither would be better, of course.

a) Be clinically deaf

or
b) Continue with tinnitus as it is?
This is hard...

4. Would you rather...
a) Have a variable sound (pulsating or a song etc, apparently one woman hears the US's national anthem constantly)

Hard again... I have several different sounds right now, and they're all anxiety-inducing for me.

(Heavy tinnitus, should be a disability, luckely this is not the case for me and many others, so I won't vote)

@Tinniger yeah it'd meant to be about the chemical industry, college think it's more beneficial to me than learning about something that affects me every waking minute!
