In these past 3 months with tinnitus I have realized that some cases are very linked to a constant existence of anxiety, panic attacks & depression disorders.

For me is very clear, I suffered from strong anxiety 6 months previous to tinnitus onset.

I used to wake up in the middle of the night with my heart racing and body shaking with no apparent reason.

Do you think Anxiety Disorders are a cause of tinnitus as well?

im not Saying i dont have hearing damage, i have always felt that i might have some hearing loose on my left ear, but...
tinnitus appeared after that stressful period in my life, and thats the story i keep reading here and in other forums.

My doctors say absolutely anxiety can cause T. They say its a chicken/egg situation. We can absolutely make T louder with anxiety and according to studies EVERYONE has some sort of T so we can kind of call it out with anxiety because we are hyper focusing on the ring so we make it louder and louder. It was unbelievable how anxiety and my mind literally created hypercausus as well.

Anxiety is defiantly a cause of tinnitus and the unwanted emotions that it can cause and the emotions can spike tinnitus so it's a circle that needs breaking....lots of love glynis

Thanks for your reply Martin,
so it started out of the blue after a long period of anxiety?
No. I had a burnout and full exhaustion, migraines and vertigo. This caused health anxiety that I have a brain tumor. And exactly this anxiety started T like hell in my head. The anxiety started afterwards.

It was a stress response. If the body is full with cortisol as a stress response (fight or flight), T can start. It is an alarm. Haven't found the switch yet to turn it off again.

dont worry we are in these together, theres gotta be a way :)
do you have it, in one or both ears?
no hearing loss?

Hey Mario, same here. I got my T from 6 months of anxiety and stress. I was worrying about stuff I couldn't control and thats when I started noticing it. The sad part is that all the worrying got me nowhere, but sick. I have learned that anxiety doesnt help anything so why bother, but I think once T has found you its not that easy to forget.
