Cause of Tinnitus
Blow to jaws
Hi guys.

It all started in June. I was sparring and got hit on the jaw. I had some jaw pain for a week, after which a low-pitched noise started in my right ear. The tinnitus became high-pitched and bilateral, my ear canal got swollen, and I had hyperacusis for about two months. I visited a couple of ENTs and did an audiogram and tympanometry, which showed that my hearing was OK.

I still have the tinnitus and sometimes a stiff neck.

Hi @SumGuy,

I'm not too bad. I hope you are well, too, mate. To be honest, the ringing is not the same. It probably got better, but it's still there. Magnesium and quitting smoking made it a lot better. I did another hearing test & tympanometry, and everything looks alright. I have started to believe it is something from my neck, spine, or jaw, but it's just an assumption. I'm generally better, but on some days, I have spikes for no reason.
