- Going to three concerts in span of a week
Hi all, I'm unsure of what to do and would appreciate any advice. I'm a 22-year-old male who attended three concerts in a week for a work commitment about two months ago. Since then, I've been experiencing ringing in my ears that comes and goes in waves. My sleep has been disrupted, so I've been using a white noise fan to help. I think I may have also developed hyperacusis recently, as everyday sounds, like people talking around me, have started to hurt.
I work in America but recently flew back to my home country, where I have good access to doctors and healthcare. One doctor suggested a few intratympanic doses of Dexamethasone for the ringing, even though it might be a bit late, and Amitriptyline for sleep, if I remember correctly.
I'm unsure about the next steps. I've read some positive stories here about Dexamethasone, but less favorable ones about Amitriptyline. Any suggestions on how to proceed?
