Going to three concerts in span of a week
Hi all, I'm unsure of what to do and would appreciate any advice. I'm a 22-year-old male who attended three concerts in a week for a work commitment about two months ago. Since then, I've been experiencing ringing in my ears that comes and goes in waves. My sleep has been disrupted, so I've been using a white noise fan to help. I think I may have also developed hyperacusis recently, as everyday sounds, like people talking around me, have started to hurt.

I work in America but recently flew back to my home country, where I have good access to doctors and healthcare. One doctor suggested a few intratympanic doses of Dexamethasone for the ringing, even though it might be a bit late, and Amitriptyline for sleep, if I remember correctly.

I'm unsure about the next steps. I've read some positive stories here about Dexamethasone, but less favorable ones about Amitriptyline. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

@Bruhhhh, it's too late for steroids. Amitriptyline is a good suggestion for improving sleep. Time, CBT, and magnesium might also help.

There are no other supplements that have been proven effective. Products like Lipoflavonoid, Cortexi, or other promoted supplements will not provide any benefit and, in rare cases, could cause harm.

Clonazepam or Gabapentin may help some people and have some supporting evidence, but they are not effective for everyone.

Hyperbaric oxygen, LLLT, and cannabis lack reliable evidence for effectiveness and could potentially make symptoms worse.

Try to avoid threads that are unhelpful. Subforums focused on treatments and research have been more beneficial for me. However, I find the alternative research subforum unhelpful, as there is no solid evidence supporting the options discussed there.
