Stopping sertraline.
Hi, good evening!

I want to thank everyone for participating in this forum. It has been really helpful.

I developed tinnitus after stopping Zoloft back in April, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
  1. Did you experience tinnitus after stopping Zoloft?
  2. If so, did it go away?
  3. How long did it take for the tinnitus to go away, and did you do anything specific to help it?
Additionally, has anyone tried restarting Zoloft (or Sertraline), and if so, did it help with the tinnitus?

Thanks!

Hello there!

I know this is an old post, but i just joined this forum now. How are you now?

I have the same problem has you, got T after stopping Sertraline. I had to do cold turkey because i couldnt get my meds (covid time), and i was fine for 4 months. Suddenly, started to feel very depressive again (was not this bad for many years) and gained a huge anxiety. I guess the withdrawal symptoms caught me after all... Since i was able to buy S again, i started with my old dosage of 50mg. After a week, T started in one ear, and after another week, the other ear. Im not sure if it really was the S because before the T started, i had huge anxiety symptoms, including a huge pressure in my head, ears and eyes. I feel like that huge and constant pressure in my ears caused it, but im not sure.

Anyway, this was like 5 years ago and still here, unfortunately. My doctor even advised me to up my S dosage to 100mg, because she told me she has other patients that got way better or cured after upping the dosage. But i honestly dont wanna play that game. In terms of mental health, while im not where i hoped to be, but its okayish. Im afraid that upping the dosage will make things worse for my mental health and my T. Some things cannot be undone after the damage is made. So im too afraid to try it.

Hope you are feeling better!
