So around May I noticed some tinnitus in my right ear, online test showed some high-frequency loss.

I've since seen an ENT and audiologist. Hearing test showed exactly what the online one showed and the ENT found that my jaw is not aligned. Symptoms calmed down big time I couldn't even notice my tinnitus for weeks as if it were gone.

However this Sunday I went to an outdoor club and I didn't wear protection. My ears hurt a bit during the event and as soon as I left the venue I noticed ringing and pressure. Muffled hearing like crazy I can barely hear out of my right ear. I'm really panicking and I don't know where to go from here, any help is appreciated, it's been 48 hours since the event and I haven't seen any improvement.

I am sure others on here have more information than I do but I am betting they will tell you to protect your ears especially if it's a recent onset.

Hopefully this is just temporary for you.

I'd go to the doctor ASAP and get some prednisone. And start taking a lot of antioxidants (sound exposure generates free radicals which damage the ear.) Ones like NAC, COQ10, melatonin, vitamins A, C, E, and magnesium. Relaxation and avoidance of loud sound will really help your ears to heal.

My right ear has been ringing, extremely muffled, can't hear crickets or other high pitched sounds for 4 days since a loud concert. Is there still hope it comes back? It's really stressing me out not being able to hear out of it and I've also noticed when I hear people yell or loud noises my ear is very sensitive to them

It can take quite a while, for the ears to return to normal. Noise trauma from a concert can rattle and shock the ears.
If your ears are still blocked and you cannot hear, possibly see an ent and see what they say. After that possibly go and see an audiologist and get your hearing tested as well.

I can relate to your issue, I have been to 2 concerts (over 20+ years ago) without ear protection and I have danced by speakers as well. I hope you feel better.....

What worries me is it's only my right ear, I've had tinnitus in it before and an ent said my misaligned jaw was mostly the casue the symptoms went mostly away but this concert set me back to worse than ever

Yea, that makes sense. If your ears don't get better in 1 week + timeframe, then possibly see and ent again. Noise trauma from concerts/VERY LOUD events/situations are pretty powerful and they can do TONS to the ears.

Understand where you are coming from, brother.

I got my T from a concert and I can still recall the fear of waking up the morning after and still hearing it ringing away. The night of the concert itself, it was like a plane taking off in my head. I remember leaving Wembley Arena and the calls of the merchandise sellers were dull and muffled, as though I was listening through water.

It can and does improve over time. Patience and protection is the key.

Do you know how long it took you to recover ? It's been 4 days and I can't hear crickets or other high pitched sounds still feels very muffled

can't really compare as I had a lot of other issues at the time - devastating, fresh bereavement.

I remember experiencing noise sensitivity at the funeral I attended a week after the concert. The deafening tone of that night went in a couple of days. Try not to obsess over the noise and do not listen out for it.

Try to relax and do normal, sound-safe things.

You have another acoustic trauma by the looks of it. Please don't go to concerts, clubs, cinema, or wear earbuds/earplus again, also refrain from doing ear tests.

Ever or until I recover ? Do you think my hearing will come back

Well ever. You dont want to have severe tinnitus. I got hearing loss from my second acoustic trauma and it never came back.

did it at least improve ? I can't hear crickets or anything high from my right ear

Sadly it didnt. You only get so many chances. Mine was caused by caloric and vemp test. It also damaged my healthy ear. In september i will be 1 year with tinnitus. My T was intially mild but it worsened. I also have dark eye floaters and visual snow.

I personally would never to go to a concert again. Friends of mine who have T, perhaps milder, now sometimes go but always wear proper earplugs.

One of my friends recently went to Ibiza and went to a club for several hours and he claimed he couldn't hear for 4 days. His hearing came back, but why risk that?

Update 5 days, woke up with very little ringing but still noticeable, hearing hasn't really improved

The best thing you can do is get a predisone oral steroid which does help but does not directly target the cochlea.

it's not like anyone actually cares about science wanting to use Neurotrophin-3 to directly repair the damaged synapses in your cochlea?

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4842978/
mention this to your ENT just to piss them off

No matter how you look it, there could be a better treatment but no one cares about curing hearing loss.

probably don't have anxiety about it. My uncle is the same, he has mild t and when i asked if he wears plugs to concerts he gave me a strange look. My t is mild but i do get anxious about it.

Damn. That's horrible. He knows he's permanently damaging his ears, right? He could be one step away from severe tinnitus.

He knows and was terrified. He is reasonably diligent about these sort of things, compared to the majority. He was wearing earplugs, I think, but claimed the volume was unlike anything he had experienced.

I often wonder how so many young people go clubbing and to concerts and actually arent as deaf as you would expect.

A work colleague of mine who regularly attends punk gigs in London actually claimed to me that she enjoyed the tinnitus afterwards!

My mum and sister are the same. My mum claims she can hear tinnitus over everything when she listens for it, but it does not bother her at all

Too much money in treating it.

What do you mean? Surely, given the earbud generations and the better understanding of noise pollution and hearing loss, there will be a cure one day, as whoever cures it will stand to become very wealthy indeed.
