Cause of Tinnitus
explosion nearby ears
Hi!

I had noise damage from acoustic shock from 3 weeks now.

My left ear is more affected(i also have a high pitch tinnitus in my left ear).

And i also have hyperacusis (not very bad).

Can any of this treatments(magnesium, vitamin A,C,E) help recover my slightly hearing loss?Or vasodilators as my medic prescribed?

I have to mention that a battery exploded nearby my ears, which can sound kind of weird. The sound was so powerful that for 1 minute i can't hear at all, like a bomb exploded nearby.

Help me please,I don't know what do to.In my country, medicine is not that advanced, especially in this kind of situations(and medics don't care).

Welcome to the forum. I am no doctor, but generally we recommend new T sufferers with acoustic trauma to get prednisone treatment from the doctor/ENT asap. Some people have been helped by this and there is a discussion thread on this approach:

I also had both T & H initially and it was quite difficult to deal with both conditions, as they seem mutually exclusive, meaning you do something to please one and the other will get worse.

Here is a video of a celebrity who has suffered T from an unexpected explosion - William Shatner (the Star Trek captain). He was telling David Letterman in a show in 1996 that both him and Nimroy (Spock) suffered bad T and hearing loss after an explosion on a Star Trek set and had to go E.R. for that. Incidentally, Letterman also had 2-tone T for a long time as he talked about it also on this show. I had a good laugh watching this video. I also felt better that T seems to afflict all kinds of people and yet life goes on with people even after initial struggle.

Thank you for your replies.
I heard that prednison is effective, but how long after exposure? It has been 3 weeks since that explosion.
I also heard that antioxidants help in this cases. And god nutrition and not strees.
But this is difficult because i'm a student in the last year at a engineering school and i also work part-time so is quite difficult for my to be calm :) But i stay positive and this condition doesn't affect me to much, just when i try to sleep.

As Kazu and Billie48 have said Prednisalone can help so even though it's a little late on the boarder line take it if offered you.
A hearing test will check if you can hear ok and tested from behind the ear to see if inner ear is fine also .
Try stay calm as the anxiety and worry can spike tinnitus and talk to your doctor on what medication might help you.
If tinnitus is problematic for you then audiology would be the next step after ENT.
Keep sound on around you day and night to take your mind off your tinnitus and at night set natural sounds below your tinnitus and play it through the night till morning to help your brain not focus on tinnitus and to the lower sound you have chosen ..
Let us know how you get on and keep posting for support as we are here around the clock...lots of love glynis

After 3 weeks predsinone may not be very effective but it's always worth a try
The other important thing is to protect your ears from normal loud noises for the next 6 months at least
